[Seravalli] With Pettersson locked up, appears Filip Hronek is next on Canucks list as GM Patrik Allvin and Hronek’s agent, Allan Walsh, were spotted meeting during practice today in LA. Too early to handicap, but seems like today was a check-in on the process.

Nice to see a proactive approach from the management. Where are they threatening to trade him to? Seemed to work well last time 🤔
Send his ass to Arizona if he doesn’t sign by Wednesday.
I hope theyre realistic with Hronek. He’s not shown any ability to drive his own pair (not that he’s been given the chance) and it’s pretty hard to tell how much Hughes influences him and vice-versa. This is the contract that has the biggest chance of looking terrible quickly if things go south. I’ll be very interested to see how it settles.
We didn’t run out of time?
It was a great couple of days without something to panic about.
What a difference in optics with GMPA. Naturally Hronek would’ve wondered when its his turn. Right after Petey signs, they’re talking and if I was in Hronek’s shoes, I’d feel appreciated and taken care of that the team is prioritizing him.
I think it will take at least 7M/year to get him signed.
“Sign for 6 or you’re living in Columbus for the rest of the fucking year” -JR, probably
Canucks rfa shit posting seems to drive a lot of click baits but props to seravalli for calling the pettersson signing.
I don’t think this will be a terribly difficult negotiation as long as Hronek’s smart enough to realize that the chance to be Hughes’ locked-in partner during the Canucks’ competitive window is a win-win scenario for him and the team.
This isn’t the Pettersson situation because any other team who’d look at acquiring him would almost certainly ask “Okay, but how good is he without Quinn Hughes?”, which puts a cap on his leverage. Unlike Pettersson, he’s not good enough as a standalone asset for a team to part with the assets to acquire him *and* sign him to an $8M contract.
I think this will end up in a medium-term contract that slots in below Hughes’ $7.85M.
I’d be okay with 6-7.5M. Nothing more
7x7m, get er done.
Interesting the push to get the big names locked in before the trade deadline, I’m liking to proactive management these days, good change
Not surprised, he’s the second most important signing after Petey. He must know he has a pretty good situation playing with Hughes and racking up points for years to come. Hopefully he’ll be reasonable because he’s not the driver on that pairing.
This group sure has better time management skills than previous regimes
Ah shit, here we go again
*Ummm the thing ummmm with Tanev is ummm we just ummmm simply ran out of time.*
Glad those days of incompetence are behind us.
Can our FO stop taking Ws for 5 minutes it’s exhausting
Please be under $7.5M for 6 years
I would not sign him to more than 7.5m imo. Can’t carry his own pair. Wouldn’t be surprised to see management possibly look at flipping him in the off season if they can’t agree to terms.
Seravelli prepared to over estimate hroneks salary too?
I know Hughes is on the ultimate bargain contract but it will feel weird to have any defenseman on a higher AAV than Huggy.
