NHL Highlights | Sabres vs. Predators – March 7, 2024

Jordan Greenway who was 66 so a couple of big power forwards going head to-head for the ZX opening puck drop and away we go he for sure would starts the first possession P stick gets the legs ched n wants to get back to that smothering

Pace that was so effective in the 8 game winning streak here’s a steal behind the net Cole Smith feeds it to the side M swung it by oh wow that would have been the perfect opening script but not quite Greenway instead brings it into Nashville territory bumps

Into Alex carrier Eric Robinson chops at it Nik was having trouble in his own end trying to get some help from Dante Fabro and he Wings it all the way around O’Reilly waiting for it now drops it to Philip forsberg eyes the net and shoots deflected up in the air Eric comry got

Just enough of it Eric cry’s got to be a little rusty he has not started a game since February 15th and this is only his second game since December the 5th you can tell there there’s rust and I mean the Predators are they’re really oh here

We gock of Angela is on it he’s stopped by comry they played excellent overall defensively oy to forsberg over the N push and a great save by comry well you wouldn’t be able to tell that comry hasn’t played much a couple of dandies there in the first four minutes yeah

He’s had set oh here we go again long stretch pass forsberg tags up quickly looking for a play forsberg excellent stick handling gets it over to Romanos just Nas he just got robbed swings it back around forsberg Captain straight away back to forsberg [Applause] Score well when you’re hot you’re hot Philip forsberg right now he’s a determined player he’s playing playing with that passion and that fire right here look at how quickly he gets that puck opens up right to the net gets that outside angle and just wires it right by

Comer that’s a big goal to start this hockey game through the middle of the ice now Payton Krebs picked up in the Jack eel trade feeds Rasmus darene now the shot by Bow and Byam and he scores to tie it up bow and Byam his first shot

His first touch as a member of the Sabers got traded yesterday what a story it’s 1-1 as bym just gets this and just simply puts it on net let’s see watch Cole Smith comes out here I think it hits Cole Smith’s stick and deflects

Into the net by Saros see if we get a better angle here oh maybe not maybe it hit sos’ stick and straight in I think the follow through hit Cole Smith referee just took a hard hit couple of guys got tangled ran pacarro went down hard play continues Dylan cousins shot fought off

By SARS as they put Byrum on power play unit number one they made no mistake about it last night firm’s going to jump in there a blast by cousins swallowed up by Soros that was a heater good job in the middle of the net and in front you know that shot’s coming

You know exactly where that is juice right there perfect nobody in front all the traffic on the other side in the middle good saved Bine goes back to work with fire couple of defenseman cousins again same thing Jeff Skinner floats it to the corner Lozan was trying to dial up pton KBS

Who’s just trying to get out of the way Nashville counters with a three on two tip by carrier and I don’t know what that hit it was heading on net tuck stand 6’4 there’s good size on this team they got some big guys they have a good

Mix I I love tuck as a player obviously Tage Thompson out he’s a big skilled player but they’ve got a good mix of H guys Bang Bang score Luke Evangelista Taps it in all as it takes is one play coming up the ice with speed and look at Novak

Right now head up Bo to the outside Evangelista drives the back post and a laser right on the tape MC Dunham bothers comes back Byron Byron and darene what a pair they’ve got some skill byon to the middle great feed Love Save By Soros really high-end stuff there and

You can see Krebs all alone in Soros Nyquist comes in to pick his pocket keeps it right on the line it’s still sitting there and another steal by nqu he looks at the net on to O’Reilly save in and the rebound sent wide by forsberg oh they had kriet Bay now it’s

Yosi swooping in tried to swing it to the middle forb again he missed the net joining the broadcast crew so good luck to the Braves this season Nashville with eight Miss shots in the first period 11 shots on goal so they got a lot of

Attempts Tri to set up can’t quite do it and here comes the Counterattack up the ice Clifton the defenseman stretching save by Soros oh big one so many of these timely saves over the course of this point streak right here there’s glass kind of gets in the way puts some pressure on so

It’s really tough to get any sort of elevation on this but sorrow stretches out and makes a big save there as Clifton another big one from 74 Dalene sizes it up back door feet juggled and a save by Saros as a result aoso couldn’t pull the trigger in time watch Soros he

Gets he adjusts he’s back on his feet nowhere to go Nashville grinding GL looking to create a again looking back to a right there bang bang Play Good save by C on mcdna Shen to the net knock down in the slot a shot by again bodies flying in the crease couldn’t hang on

Nyquist a good keep in forb swoops in hands it off to lazan lazon makes the move all the way in Tapped up over the cross bar oh Jeremy lazon oh that would have been a highlight re play his brother would have came right out of his

Seat of this going I think it hits Nik with stick look at that little tow drag right through the middle oh then just off a face off win Yosi goes to work that hit a stick punch right back to Yosi long scene pass up the ice here

They come it’s PKA he is denied by Soros spot he holds on and this is before that Saros again tried to beat him fiveo with a quick shot there petka does and SOS stick down and boy that almost went right to forsburg reload f for br with a drive rebound

Forsberg trying to hold off his man shovels it to the net oh Ry is denied by Cy and the rebound picked up by Krabs guys’s doing a good job letting him see pucks but he’s keeping him out underway in the third let’s check in with Cara Hammer forsberg with nyquits

Poror snapped it rebound Riley tried to get to it chased down by Nyquist better just keep the pressure on backand F forth for inside [Applause] Score number nine has two on the night and he just had a feeling this line wasn’t done the way that they’re playing the way they played last game but look at the pass by nist it almost surprises forsberg at just so nonchalant silky smooth he gets it no Panic quick stick

Handle Dees cry out of his shorts and just tucks it right under the bar no space get the puck back and get on the attack great pass cousins is loose right in front great save by Soros he fought it off and Nashville got to the rebound on the counter lead pass for

Robinson MCD is back Robinson trying to get around another save for Soros and he’s got the rebound Soros shutting him down and this is a tough one just gets a little space in there Robinson the young referee Justin key had to do it all here’s a drop pass forberg toe save rebound R

For he scor here come the hats Philip horberg has done it [Applause] again [Applause] oh Philip forsberg a man on a mission right there he wants it he gets it back and just tucks it in and they will carve off the final few seconds and this crowd appreciates the penalty kill they have been doing the job lately byro brings it

In Cross I feet score oh what a play that was oh and power finishes it and beautiful pass and just after the power play expired Buffalo’s back within two to buum I believe who’s going to find power as he drives to the net just got inside position there on glass and then

Just chips it up this is a nice quick release right up over the shoulder glove hand on Saros look at that shot to ultra talented young defenseman 6 seconds to go the point streak for the ntional Predators will grow to 10

Filip Forsberg couldn’t be contained as the Swede netted his 10th-career hat trick and took down the Sabres on the way in a 4-2 win. New Buffalo acquisition Bowen Byram made a good impression, scoring a goal and notching an assist in his debut.

  1. Sabres are pathetic haha awful only 2 or less goals in 3 straight ganes and last 2 were scored by olofson who hadnt played in a month and now 2 defensmen, their forwards are unnoticeable

  2. This Preds team just keeps surprising me finding ways to get these wins. Foresberg Hatty, Evangelista goal, and Saros being Saros. What was the last regulation loss the Preds had? Oh yeah the loss to Dallas, I know this most likely won’t last forever but I’m enjoying the point streak and winning while it lasts.

  3. Must be a sinking feeling being traded to Buffalo … poor Byrum , scores 1st goal in 1st game on a loser of a team … 13th season in a row no playoffs … Sabres smart move would be to trade ownership , coaching staff and entire management board

  4. Sabres puck watching again in their own zone and going behind the net. Ya sure win that way

  5. Way too much much standing around by the Sabres. Half -assed stick checks in the defensive zone is a real lack of effort. There is a lot of talent on this team but they play way too soft. They need a coach who is going to hold them accountable.

  6. Predators upsetting a one seeded Canucks team is going to be one of the funniest moments in modern hockey history.
