BIGGEST Winners & Losers From The NHL Trade Deadline I CBS Sports

HQ RERN >> Tommy: HURRICANE , MICHAEL BUNTING PROSPECTS SPECIAL A PICK THAT COULD HAVE FIRST-ROUND UPSIDE IF THE HURRICANES REACH THE STANLEY CUP FINAL, A LIST OF NOTABLE PLAYERS TRADED, THIS TIME LAST WEEK I ASKED IF THESE GUYS, GET DEALT.

TWO OF THEM DID AND TWO STAYED WITH THEIR TEAMS. ALL RIGHT, LET’S BRING IN ALLEN MAY, SHORT AND SWEET, EVERYONE WANTS TO KNOW, THE WINNERS AND THE LOSERS, THE WINNERS IN YOUR OPINION, ALLEN, WHO DID “THE GOOD STUFF”, AHEAD OF TODAY’S DEADLINE?

>> Guest: AHEAD OF TODAY’S DEADLINE AND COMBINED WITH TODAY’S DEADLINE, I GO TO THE VEGAS TEAM, THEY PULLED OFF A HUNAL ONE, GETTING — HUGE ONE, THEY ADD ADD HENNIPIN, AND A SNEAKY PICK FOR WASHINGTON, ANTHONY MATTHEW. THIRD ON THE ROSTER RIGHT NOW.

AND THEY DOWNPLAYED AND PUSHED ALL OF THE CHIPS IN, AND STONE COLD, THEY ARE ALL-IN, TRYING TO WIN ALL THE TIME, EVERY GAME, EVERY NIGHT. IT’S AMAZING TO SEE. EDMONTON, MADE SMART PLAYS WITH KERIC. AND THEY ADDED SOME, CHARACTER, A BIG HEAVYWEIGHT FIGHT, LAST NIGHT.

THEY LOST GAME IN HENRY, HE CAN CONVERSE THE BOTTOM SIX, THOSE TWO GUYS AND NOW THEY ARE A A LOT BETTER TEAM. AND THE OTHER TEAM, #2 ON THE LIST, WOULD BE, COLORADO. JOE SAKIK, IDENTIFIES WHAT THEY NEED, NOT GOING FOR THE

SPLASH AND PIZ AS OF THE TRADE DEADLINE, HE GOT WALKER OUT OF THE FLIERS AN IMPENDING FREE AGENT. THEY ADD MIDDLESTAFF TO THE ROSTER, AN EXCELLENT YOUNG TALENT, HAVING A CAREER YEAR. YAKOF, IS A SOLID FOLLOW PLAYER,PLAYING A CHECKING GAME, THEY WORK HARD EVERY

NIGHT, HE’S GOT THAT PEDIGREE. AND, BRANDON DUHAN, IN THE PLAYOFFS YOU HAVE TO SKATE THROUGH THE PLAYERS. AND I LOVE THE LOOK OF THE BOTTOM SIX OF THE COLORADO AVALANCHE, THEY WERE NOT HAPPY WITH WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH RYAN JOHANSON

HIM, WITH A GUY WHO’S COMING INTO HIS OWN, VEGAS AND COLORADO, WHAT’S GONE ON SO FAR WHAT WE KNOW OF, THOSE TEAMS DID A VERY, VERY GOOD JOB. >> Tommy: REFLECTED IN THE BETTING MOMENT AND CONVERSELY ON THE OTHER SIDE, WHO LEFT

TOO MUCH ON THE TABLE AND DIDN’T DO ENOUGH IN YOUR EYES? >> Guest: YOU LOOKATICALGARY — CALGARY, THEY HAVE BEEN IN A WEIRD SITUATION, THEY HAVE PLAYERS PEOPLE WANTED AND THEY DID GREAT THINGS BUT, PITTSBURGH PENGUINS, THEY UNLOADED GENZEL, BUT DID THEY DO ANYTHING?

A LOT OF TEAMS DIDN’T DO ENOUGH. COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS THEY HAVE SO MUCH GOING ON, YOU CANNOT DETERMINE THERE’S A LOSER RIGHT NOW, BUT THERE WERE TEAMS THAT WERE INACTIVE, PLAYING POKER TOO HIGH, AND LOOKING AT THE WILD, THEY DID GOOD THINGS.

THERE’S NOT A DEFINITIVE LOSER AS TO WHAT’S GOING WO, TEAMS WERE ASKING TOO MUCH, MAKING THE DRAFT MORE EXCITING THIS YEAR, BEFORE THE FREE AGENCY AS THE PLAYERS WHO ARE UP FOR THE CONTRACTS THEY CAN DO THEIR SIGN-AND-TRADES. YOU DON’T HAVE A TEAM THAT WAS

KICKED REALLY BADLY, BUT THERE ARE A LOT OF TEAMS LEFT HOLDING, ASKING, AND WANTING TOO MUCH, THAT WILL HAVE TO DO IT AT THE DRAFT AND ON FREE AGENCY DAY. >> Tommy: BRINGING US THE KNOWLEDGE HERE ON HQ SPOTLIGHT. ALLEN, APPRECIATE IT.

I REFERENCED THE ODDS HERE, THESE ARE THE CURRENT ONCE AACCORDING TO FANDUEL, THE OILERS AND THE PANTHERS ARE CO-FAVORITES AT 7:1. AND AGAIN, ALLEN LOVES COLORADO, EDMONTON, AND VEGAS. TO THE SURPRISE OF NO ONE THEY ARE ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE

BRACKET WHEN IT COMES TO THE ODDS AND IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE, WITH

  1. There will be 1 winner and that will be the team holding the cup in June! Everyone else who traded picks and prospects and lost will be the losers! Vancouver and LA were smart to stand pat! It's not their time!

  2. Flyers got rid of Walker and still beat the best team in the league.
Danny Briere turned Ivan Provorov into two 2nd rounders and two 1st rounders.
Brilliant on a rebuild team that should be going into the playoffs.
Flyers and Dnany Briere are having their cake and eating it too.
    Go Flyers!

  3. If you don't think the Hurricanes didn't win the trade deadline, you just do not know hockey! PERIOD!
