I'm trying to focus on the fact that yes he was a #32 pick. But it was a deep draft last year so he's a decent pick up.

I was born and raised in Vegas. My dad has been a huge hockey fan for my entire 30+ years of experience. When i was eight, he asked me to pick a hockey team and I said "uh… Sharks are cool".
Being a Sharks fan, who converted to the Knights when they came here (Oct 1st was hugely impactful on our community and its hard to put in words what VGK did for us), this has been a WILD ride.
Probably the saddest I've been as a sharks fan since Marleau left for the Leafs.
No lie this one hurt once I saw it confirmed on ESPN 🤦🏻♂️💔 and Duke..and not only left bt didn’t he sign off on his NMC and to the Rivals 🤦🏻♂️🤨😫😩😩😩🤬🤬🤬 🦈🏒

Grier has had an exceptional two seasons. He took a bottom 1/3 prospect pool and turned it into a top 5 pool. Many seem to forget how lackluster this teams future looked 3 seasons ago. Having a bag full of bottom six forwards/prospects isn’t a bad thing. They are considered solid trade pieces when the time is right.
The Hertl trade stinks but we really don’t know what teams were offering and if your division opponent offered up, Grier had no choice to take it and keep the rebuild going. Who cares if they win, the object is for the Sharks to win one. Hertl will be a non factor by the time this org is ready to compete.
I’ve been fully braced for the suck since last season and expect one more bottom 10 finish next season. Then my hopes are to see this team open the checkbook and compete for a wild card spot in 2026.
