They will hire some inexperienced coach. Just like last ownership. Cheap.
I love me some Meth but I respectfully disagree with him on Berube. I don't think his relationship with Walt is an issue. It might even be an advantage if Brady is disgruntled with the Sens. I think he will be interviewed at the very least this summer. Going from DJ to Berube might have put a few guys into a coma. Where as the switch from Jacques to Berube is not as much of a climb. Just my two cents
As I said before Meth should be the next coach. He has as much experience than Martin St-Louis coaching young kids ha ha. He knows the game, he is young, smart, full of energy and explains well. If not coach, at least assistant behind the bench. He is very credible when he talks.
Sullivan could be a nice fit. Berube would be fine as well. Honestly 100% fine with them hiring a first time nhl coach. Berube and Sullivan coached teams to cups on very limited nhl experience John cooper- no previous nhl coaching experience before Tampa. Bednar had zero nhl experience before coaching Colorado. Essentially no reason to go out of their way to hire an “experienced” coach- at least the evidence doesn’t support this as being an advantage at all

Sullivan, Julien, McLellan, Gallant, Ruff, all good options. I want an older coach with experience. No more first time coach experiments. I can’t think of one “first time head coach” that left this team and went on to be a head coach elsewhere. Clouston, Cameron, McLean, Boucher, all those guys were next assistant coaches, or in another league.
Edit: I CAN think of one… Jacques Martin left Ottawa and was head coach in Florida. He’s the only guy I can think of. No clue about Neilson or older guys. I can’t remember that far back. But Neilson wouldn’t have been a first time head coach when he was in Ottawa. 🤔
