The problem with trading Chychrun right now is that you really want to make a hockey trade, not a trade for futures and right now the good teams don't want to trade away players they like and the bad teams are happy to wait. So it would be hard to get an RHD with term coming back which is probably what you want.
Id rather have Chych than Chabot. If we can trade Chabot for a decent top 4 dman who can play a shutdown game then we should take it. I would also consider buying out Josh Norris this offseason, 1.4M cap hit for 12 years is better than paying someone to take him or having his 8M on the books till 2031. He isn't ever gonna be the player we signed, buy him out at 1/3rd especially after the latest injury.
