@Montreal Canadiens

That was pretty close..

OK Guys, it’s time to review the game last night between the Montréal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Habs lost this game by a final score of 3-2. But overall, I felt like they hung in there, and played a great home game. Juraj Slafkovsky finished this game with 2 assists, Alex Newhook and Mike Matheson were the goal scorers for Montreal! Lets take a look!

The articles that were in the video were screenshots from Habsfanatics.com, I highly reccommend you to check out this site for further Habs News,

  1. Man. The Leafs are going to reach but lose the first round right until Matthews contract expire in what, 3-4 year?
That is, unless they FINALLY understand that you CANNOT go into a deep playoff run without a DECENT to good D + good goaltending AND forward depth (something you CANNOT have if you overpay all members of your core). The worst offender has been Marner, and since in the playoffs he is already worth 3 or 4 time less than his CURRENT salary, if they resign him with the TOR special, meaning many millions over what any other team would pay under their cap, it’s all over. They need to use Tav’s expiring contract cap space AND either trade with no retention or let walk Marner out without any return exepect the necessary cap space they need. With both, it would be about 22M to spend on 2 top 2-4 Ds, goaltending, and finally use the left over to retain/acquire forward depth.

If they don’t finally WAKE TF UP after losing again this year like chumps, I’m going to start believing that the franchise is a nepotism cult or something lol.

Again, they need to get rid of both Tav and Marner, If Tav wants to stay with a discounted short term contract (NO MORE than 2M MAX), ok sure, but they will need than 20M+ cap space in order to build a team that could win during Matthews era. With better goaltending, a decent to good D core, and bottom 6 depth scoring, the team will be better in all aspects of the game, especially playoffs.
Or let’s go full Leafs and give Marner his insane 13M renewed contract ; with 4 goals in his last 35 playoffs games, it might be the worst pay to score ration in league’s history.

I don’t like the franchise and the city is so uninteresting, so if they keep the circus that’s been going on for 20 years now (ONE second round win in 20 yeah, CHRIST LOL!), I think I speak for most fan when I say : keep it up!
This real life representation of the Sisyphus myth is something we love to see before real playoff stats. And since the Matthews era with so much star power, bragging, conspiracies against the refs after every loss, the insane level of denial, cults of personalites (remember when fan were talking about Dubas like a young GENIUS instead of the objective failure he’s been for them and now the Pens lol), etc.
It’s an important tradition for ALL fans outside of their Tor bubble, and year after year a team is called upon their oath for their sacre duty to humiliate the Leafs in the first round (which is why I’ll NEVER forget the Bolts losing to them… SHAME). Even last nhl playoff seed MTL humiliated them in thecbest fashion the previous years, and the Bruins did almost ALL of that sacred duty for us all (so many times that’s it’s hard to remember a specific year where Boston and Tor met in the first round. There’s another team too that should be mentioned but I forgot which one, but they were the other team that did the job).

Tor CAN be a serious contender, but they manage things as if it was their stated goal to entertain the other 31 fanbase with a circus lol :p. We’ll see which path they take soon because Marner contract ends next year I think, and Tav’s this year?

  2. What i love the most about your quibs is they are funny and straight to the point.

    Thank You ! Hockey Junkie.

  3. Slavkosky is a problem on the first line and pp.
    Believe it or not.
I could get 50 points a year playing his minutes.

  4. For a tanking team, my question is: how many games did the Habs loose by a single goal(besides empty netters” ? Considering they have 1 line that scores.

  5. They have to change their PP it has become to predictable and dangerous. The drop pass to the last man has four Habs sitting on the blue line while last man back tries entering the offensive zone. How many give aways and odd man rushes leading to opposing team goals before who ever is in charge gets their head out of their ass and tries something new

  6. Im from slovakia and watching games is a no go as they are too late I just wanted to say thanks for amazing, very funny, witty content. Looking forward to your match review every time. Slaf looks good out there, hopefully hes gonna become a player that makes difference in games. Keeping eye on Mesar too. Overall exciting time to be a habs fan.

edit: great to see Pezetta out there, hes an absolute madman.

  7. You habs fans really have nothing to be happy about so you're all Cheering over a Loss to the leafs 🤣. Laughing stock franchise. Enjoy the basement yet again. And P.S. arber was a complete liability yet again. Reavo dosent need to fight guys who are only interested in hugging Like time (a fight involves throwing punches, arber didn't want to trade with reaves hence the zero punches thrown) and he dosent need to fight guys who are a liability Every time they touch the ice.

  8. I think it’s great Xhekaj isn’t being challenged every time he hits the ice. I think the game is slowing down for him and he’s developing very nicely. Still like seeing him whack people every now and then.

  9. My compliments to you sir. Your game summaries are better than the official ones since you give the real “feel” of the game, and also show clips and closeups that really speak to the fine details of the game (one example: “the Xhejak effect”). Great work
