Oh well, guess it’s time to tank for Celebrini… oh wait

  2. Fuck

Alright, 8 games in the next 3 weeks so hopefully it’s not longer than that. Would really like to have him back for Edmonton on April 13, we should be good by then I hope

EDIT: Every other report is saying 2-3 weeks, pretty sure this article made a typo lmao

  3. Infernoooo

Might be best to just rest him until like a week before playoffs so we know he fully heals and let him play the last few games of regular season to warm up

  4. ClassicChrisstopher

    Honestly not even worried.

DeSmith has been great. Not to mention it gives him a good rest before a long playoff run 🤞

  5. Malforian

Back just in time for the playoffs, classic Vegas

  6. makeanewblueprint

Could be worse, back for playoffs at latest. Was very worried when I saw this. We need Demko to make a deep playoff run.

Podkolzin called up you heard it here first

  8. electricnux

Lalji, who is the TSN source, tweeted 2-3 weeks lol why they just adding weeks

  9. barelyincollege

Give Silovs a few starts, see if he can be the full-time backup next season on a cheaper deal than DeSmith’s.

This is unfortunate because Demko has been on fire lately. I wanted them to rest him but hopefully this isn’t *too* much rest in the sense that he loses his groove.

  11. If only he got injured a day earlier and we could circumcise the cap

  12. leroyvanjackson

Wtf demko you’re supposed to get injured BEFORE the deadline… Bush league.

  13. n0thingisperfect

Aren’t we supposed to do this before the trade deadline?

  14. DiligentDiscipline15

Supposed to get hurt before the trade deadline like Vegas

  15. Fruitisynthesis

Canucks play 5 games in the next 2 weeks. It might be a blessing in disguise that Demko gets time to rest up now.

  16. I don’t care that much about the games he’ll miss, I care about whether he’ll actually be 100% (or close to it) once he gets back / and for the playoffs.

  17. Stollen_booty_

This really sucks, but at least it’s leading into the lightest part of the schedule

  18. So this is how they’ll get him around 55 games

  19. I’m okay with this news. Demko is pulling the “Mark Stone” move. I don’t want him to be burnt out when playoff starts. Be fresh for the playoffs. Who knows, knowing DeSmith in net, canucks will have to be more defensively aware since they can’t just let Demko do all the highlight reel saves at all times. That should “polish” some defensive shortcomings before the playoff starts.

When playoff comes around, he will be DOMINANT!

Imagine if this happened a bit earlier — and the Canucks put him and Myers on LTIR — and gained like 10+ million in cap space to spend at the Trade Deadline… but that would be cheap as hell and unsporting of them, surely no one in the NHL would do such a thing…

  21. Nuckleheadtoo

We’ve all but locked a playoff spot, I just hope to see Silovs get a couple starts

  22. This is a blessing in disguise. Hard to deny a hot goaltender games, so this gives him a chance to rest. Encouraged by him going out on his own terms; no visible injury and giving DeSmith a heads up prior to the game. Wouldn’t surprise me if they intentionally extended the timeframe just to give him rest for the playoffs.

  23. flamingdragonwizard

That’s anywhere between 6-11 games. That would only leave 4 or so regular season games left though.

Hope we can at least go .500 so we maintain first in the division.

  24. I’m curious how this will effect his Vezina chances. Hopefully Hellebuyck struggles down the stretch here.

  25. LIL_DROP13

Hopefully this can help Desmith build up his confidence
