How much more discipline should Rempe expect for elbow to Siegenthaler?

How much more discipline do you expect Matt Rempe to get for his elbow to Jonas Siegenthaler? What do you make of the Rempe and Nathan Bastian situation? What do you think of Rempe’s career in the NHL so far? TSN Hockey analyst Martin Biron joins SC with Jay Onrait to discuss.

  1. Baby Huey has been pooping his diaper every since NJ got McDermid. So instead of manning up he takes the coward way out and throws an elbow. Waving or whatever he was doing is some Junior B garbage. All McDermid has to do in the next game is ask him to fight if he still refuses then go after Panarin see how that works out for diaper boy. If he is still in the NHL by then. 3-4 games for the elbow and a lifetime of stupidity for the waving.

  2. I think he should put on a strike system. 3 strikes and you’re out. This should be strike 2 or 3. The guy is vicious. Yeah hockey is a contact sport and nothing wrong with delivering a clean hit but I haven’t seen one clean hit from him. He’s going to end someone’s career. He’s a danger to the sport.

  3. I’m a rangers and Rempe fan and yes he did crossed the line but I don’t think he intended to injure the guy if you look at what happened before the hit he couldn’t leave the devils zone because a devils was harassing him and I think frustration got the best of him,not making excuses for him he did what he did now he will face the consequences of he’s actions he needs to control he’s feelings and he’s body before something really bad happens whether he hurts someone or someone hurts him it will be very crazy on April 3rd when they play the devils because they will come after him with the intention of hurting him or any rangers if he doesn’t play

  4. Whether you’re a NYR fan or not, the answer to this should 100% be “YES”. Hell, I’m an Avs fan and when Kadri took a cheap shot to Faulk’s head back in the 20/21 playoffs, it warranted the 10-game suspension. Just no place in the game for targeting a player in the head.

  5. People seem to forget that most players head are at Rempe elbow, yes he got the guy but I doubt he maliciously wanted to do that seriously you got to be really stupid to intentionally ruined your career especially after all the love he’s getting not only from Rangers fans but hockey fans in general, ironic how devils fans are crying about this but seems to forget they had a criminal captain Scott Steve’s that literally went out there intentionally hurting players karma

  6. No one is talking about how he was being harassed throughout the whole game or the checking from behind he received no penalty called frustration got the best of him no making excuses but anyone that’s 20 years old with the same frame as him most definitely will do the same so enough with the crying bs because every team has a player like him idk Wilson,Kadri or the old devils captain Scott Steve’s yea a real piece of garbage that did exactly that he’s whole career at least Rempe is 20 still not mature enough. LGR!

  7. I think he should receive the same penalty that former NJ Devil Subban got when he Slew Footed then Rangers Ryan Reaves and then Sammy Blais who missed the season.

  8. League has to send a message to this kid. That is a dirty elbow. 3 to 5 games. If he plays this way he has to answer the bell. He has set a target on his back .

  9. Seigenthaler saw Rempe coming and he tried to stop to avoid getting hit. Rempe extended his elbow to try and get some of him. Unfortunately he’s almost 7 feet tall and he caught his head. Suspend him and move on. Acting like the kid is some gutless predator is laughable.

  10. Siegenthaler pulled up from the hit, and rightfully so, after playing the puck into the zone. Rempe, seeing that Siegenthaler had let up, did NOT adjust his stride to hit him square. Thus him extending his elbow to still make contact. Marty misses that. Which in my eyes makes it a very dirty play and deliberate on Rempe's part. Was making a name for himself, but plays like this will turn people against him quick if he makes this a common thing

  11. i'm not saying this isn't a bad hit…but as far as I can tell, 95% of the people who comment on bad hit videos have never skated before. I'm sure some of you have…like 5%…but if you haven't, I promise you have no idea what you're talking about and shouldn't have a strong opinion. Life at full speed on skates is much different than slo mo on your TV
