He doesn't play defence at all? What exactly do you mean by that? In Ottawa he had one of the Team's best +/- all year! Last night he had 3pts and finished +3. The BEST defence is puck possession. In Ottawa, no one ever accused Tkachuk of "not playing defence" and he's -9. Vlad was +13! In fact the current top 6 players on the Sens are collectively -50. After one game with Florida, Vlad is +3. Perhaps you would like to explan how this is possible.

You hit the nail on the head. The fit with Barkov and Reinhardt is their defensive responsibility. I'm sure they know what Taransenko brings to the table and are happy to clean up defensively to let him do what he's already done.

Tarasenko’s fit on the top line has been great. He looks more comfortable there than the second line has looked the last two games (and those guys have played more minutes together) he’s done a lot of little things that are no skill related which I like and he’s thrown some nice hits as well

This trade has single handedly destroyed the fan base in Ottawa, I for one am sick of my team being a punching bag and a laughing stock in the nhl
for what we gave up, this is easily the best trade, yes better than all the VGK cap circumvention and the Guentzel trade.
