McMann sold himself short. Leafs stole him. Tre is a good GM.
It doesnt matter when he was in the AHL or how long hes been with the Leafs. It only matters what he is right now. Use your brain and your eyes. Can you not see his talent. Hes big, hes always on the puck and in the play, he contribute positively every shift, every line he's on becomes better, he can score. Hes a 3million winger. This forum underestimated Engvall & Hyman & Reaves & Samsonov & Holl. McKee is a hater.
Don't be saying so much about Mitch guaranteed to be coming back because there's no way you can trade him, if he catches wind of that, it's gonna give him confidence to demand TOP dollar lol.
Marner would command a huge return in a trade. What is McKee talking about? Where is Kypreos to keep McKee in reality.

im not sure the date nylanders new contract starts, but hypothetically be traded up until say july 1st if thats when the new deal kicks in?

I think you hear the coach's message incorrectly. I herad, "no update today but he did skate today". You claim the message stated "didn't". It makes sense if statement was "did". I don't know how you missed that. "No update" keeping it discreet because he is not sure if he can bring him. Stating "he did skate today" implies he can play but should he? Thus "read into it" means start the rumors that Marner returns to the game. However I personally feel, they are keeping Marner out to see if the team can do well without him to possibly not resign him because they need the salary cap for more players. Yes, it looks more likely the won't resign Tavares which it on its own frees up some of the cap. Not signing Marner opens more. The average salary is $3 to $5 million. Think Samsonov contract is due. Keep him? Higher salary? Woll resigning will be due in another year and he will demand higher salary. Max and Bertuzi is just one year. Will they ask for more? Etc.

You can't rank last year as being the best year as far as success…Tampa was/is a broken team after losing so many players..if anything, the Leafs remained the same level of talent and the Lightning became the worse team. Leafs weren't better, it's just that Tampa got worse.

Move rielly to bottom 6 winger or trade. He creates holes and gives up the lead. You saw how they play with and without him. You have no chance at a deep run with him. Changing the goalies and coaches hasn't worked for how many years now? But "he's a nice guy" 🙄

The core 4 .. are paid like they are winners… but that aren't. Their pay prevents the team from building a skilled team. Instead they are stuck with subpar goaltending… defense … bottom 6. Coaching is questionable at best. Worst of all the Core 4!!! disappears when the games get physical in the playoffs, thus WAY overpaid.

The leafs had to get some forwards locked in with that core chewing up as much as they are. They need Dewar and Robertson locked in too. Keep as much cap available to augment that blueline!
I actually like the ‘21 team the best. The core were awesome, Matthews had 60, Brodie was still awesome, we brought in Gio at the deadline, Lyubushkin, Jack was solid. Just lost to peak Tampa in 7.
Panthers comeback of the Dallas game was a great example of the cats resilience and drive, these guys are a well oiled machine, and I'm an old Boston guy, the B's have a chance to go all the way, but I wouldn't bet the house in them, hope I'm wrong. Goddam Panthers. Gotta respect them.
