#hockey #nhl #alexanderovechkin #washingtoncapitals #edmontonoilers The Edmonton Oilers are looking incredible lately and goalie Stuart Skinner absolutely robbed Alexander Ovechkin.
That was a well-played game but Colorado will tell a more important story. To be the best you have to beat the top, and Colorado is a legit Cup contender.
My one concern with the oilers this year is who they are beating. When they play the top echelon teams like Dallas, winnipeg, Vancouver, Boston, Florida they haven't done well. And the wins they do have are mostly ot, where they can't have mcdavid slaughter you in 3 on 3 in the playoffs. They have 3 with Colorado, a few with Vancouver, one with toronto/dallas/winnipeg/Vegas down the stretch. I think those games will show what they can do before the playoffs more then the other ones
@EckHockey do you take any solace in the fact that Kris Knoblauch was with the Hartford Wolf Pack (your New York Rangers AHL affiliate) before the oilers got their hands on him? He definitely did a great job coaching up the young Rangers players like Matt Rempe and Zac Jones, and it's extremely hard to argue with the success he's had up in the big league as well. Like it obviously sucks that he's not with the franchise anymore, but does it stir hope that the Rangers have this many successes coming out of Hartford lately?
Honestly think that the oilers are getting to much recognition for their recent stretch. Since the start of the new year they've played at most 10 games against teams actually in a playoff spot and even their wins against Dallas and Boston were in OT. They are a great team and made a big turn around but the numbers lie and I would be worried if anyone thinks the oilers are Canada's best bet at a cup this year. I mean we all know only having Skinner in net isn't going to bode well for them come the playoffs and I don't think that they're going to be able to anything against a team like Vancouver or a health Vegas lineup, or even Winnipeg in a 7 game series. I think its going to be the same story as it is every year with the oilers winning against teams that aren't really contenders until they come up against an actual cup contending team and it's going to be the end of their playoff run. I really want to see a Canadian team lifting the cup but I don't think Edmonton will be the one to do it.

STUART skinner lmao.
Also shoutout Connor Brown.
Oilers with another good looking regular season. Playoffs is a new season though. We've seen this before. Will it end differently?
Stuart skinner

Proud to an Oilers Fan

0:13 – Like you, the Oilers team GAA average really surprised me.
Thanks for this.

Van gonna feel how Calgary felt soon enough lol
Can’t believe you didn’t include connor brown scoring literally the biggest story in Edmonton
Jeff Skinner? I had no idea the Oil picked up Stuart Skinner’s brother at the deadline.

The Oilers are a great team but I just don't see them beating Dallas, Colorado, or Vegas.
Stuart Skinner is my favourite player and I loved that he robbed Ovi twice but the true first star and highlight was CONNOR BROWN HELL YEAH!!!!
Eck why are you such a loser?
How many interviews with an nhl player has Eck gotten? NONE
Really disappointed no connor brown mention. That was modt oilers fans highlight moment of the season… Place was berserk.
total oilers are not a joke — leafs fans may not agree tho as expected
ah yes, Jeff Skinner, Oilers goaltender and somehow a forward for Buffalo
And the fact we only have 2 LOSER points is oh so sweet
OH SAY CAN YOU SEE!? MY TINY WEENIE!
good job Jeff
I went to this game and the cheer when Brown scored was insane
