Looking like the Sean Walker trade could come down to the draft pick after last night’s two goals. What do you think? Watch here…

Torts said seeler/Walker were our best d-pair and it’s showing in brutal fashion.

Hathaway after he goal @ Florida said how they miss Walker. Konecny is his interview someone posted mentioned missing Walker….everyone that wanted to tank we just had to trade Walker sooner. Gutted this team

Good for Walker. Still a fan of his

What do you mean that it “could come down to the draft pick”?

They weren’t going to pay his asking price so I don’t follow your logic here.

  5. I mean… we got a first round pick and a cap dump for a cap dump acquired this past off season. It’s already a win, because re-signing him would have been a poor decision and we aren’t expecting to win the Cup so why keep him as a rental.

But I agree it was a good trade for the Avs as well.

Damn, and here I was thinking it was going to come down to Ryan Johansen….

I mean, Walker came here as a depth throw in to a trade that would’ve gone through with or without him. With that context in mind, this trade is a phat W, regardless of how the 1st rounder turns out.

It sucks seeing defense is such a liability now with all of the injuries and Walker trade, but down to the T we did exactly what a rebuilding team should do. Identify talent (be it in trade, FA, etc) flip said talent, and retain salary or take back bloated contracts to sweeten the pot. The fruits of Danny’s labor won’t be seen for a couple of year at the earliest, but make no mistake about it, he is laying the foundations for a team that *could* be legitimate contenders down the road.

What in the world is this thread?

Getting a first for Walker was a great move. We were not going to win the Cup this year.

You don’t play to get into the playoffs, you play to win the Cup. It’s about time that a GM had the balls to make a move like this. Walker is a classic aquire low , sell high. You do not pay these guys in contract years.

We’re currently missing Seeler, Risto and Drysdale from the defense. Subtract 4 players from your starting 6 and you are going to suffer. We got unlucky with injuries. It is what it is. This season is a bonus, if we get into the playoffs, it’s because the players have overachiever massively.

As others have said this post makes no sense. He is a free agent and not likely to sign him. Hit a first round pick.

  9. People somehow still don’t seem to realize that Sean Walker is a nice hockey player. Yes, we knew this, and this is why we got a 1st rd pick. Good for him for making a hell of an impact on his new team. We’ll still take the 1st.

Walker was great for us all year and I’m not suprised he’s doing well in Colorado with the talent they have. It was a good trade for both teams. He’s a slick offensive player as well as a pretty solid defender. I’m glad he’s maintained his production. For us, hopefully we can draft some high level playmaking centers or top end wingers. Our team works their nuts off every game and could use a couple big time finishers.

These posts come across as AI written, but without the intelligence part. The general common sense statements, like “Briere has his work cut out for him with the pick,” no shit, he’s had his work cut out for him since he took over the job as GM. The team is in a rebuild, of course he’s got his work cut out for him.

  12. What??? It was always about the pick

Hes a 30 yr old w/ limited track record who wanted big deal

    Flyers arent a contender

Its a no brainer to move him for a first ….

If he were younger it would be different
