Monahan and Toffoli go wayyy back. Not only did they both play for the flames a couple years ago, they both had an insane couple years together on a pretty stacked Ottawa 67s squad in the early 2010s. adding them both to your team is a sneaky smart play by the Jets, excited to see what kind of damage they do
They need to show up against good teams. Winning against non playoff teams doesn't make me confident. Losing against Nashville and Vancouver is concerning. BUT, the playoffs are a different beast, and if they're coasting in the final leg of the regular season just to save it for the playoffs, then look out.
Last season the team was broken on all ends there's a reason we got outed in the first round. Call me biased as a Jets fan but with all the acquisitions we've made and how much the team has changed since, I think this is the year we make a deep run in the playoffs
I've been a Jets fan. I had really high expectations a few years back when they knocked off Nashville. A couple years ago, too many leads were blown and ultimately lost, which cost them dearly in the standings. Last year was disappointing with how things fell apart late in the season, and I think Coach Bowness' anger after losing to Vegas resonated with a lot of fans. This year, I like how they are stingy defensively, the scoring throughout the lineup and solid goaltending from Bucky and Brossoit. The moves made are working out, and I want to see it all continue come playoffs.
Flames most likely won't make the playoffs so it's nice to see the Jets (my 2nd team) kicking some serious ass this year. Hope Toffoli can win another cup as well as bring a cup to Canada.
