Ovechkin just made NHL history

It is now Gordie Howe, Brendan Shanahan and Alexander Ovechkin. That’s it. Last night, as the Washington Capitals came into the Saddledome to face the Calgary Flames, Alexander Ovechkin made history becoming only the 3rd player in NHL history to have scored 20 or more goals in 19 consecutive seasons. Despite getting off to an extremely cold start to this NHL season, Ovechkin has picked it up and scored not one but 2 powerplay goals on route to a big victory in Calgary as the Caps are now officially in a Wild Card playoff spot led by their captain. The game was a good one, so enjoy as I cover that and much more in todays NHL hockey video!

  1. Sorry I'm late on this one guys! Going to be real busy with work these next 3-5 weeks, so please be patient with me. I'll try my best to keep the videos coming! Thank you for watching -NMU

  2. No one seems to mention that Niklas Backstrom, the center that had played with OV and assisted sooo many of his goals, has been out the entire season. That changes the entire team and especially the guys on his line.

  3. Who calls Ovi the great one? Hes the great 8. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ please dont ever refer to Ovi as the ā€œGreat oneā€ because he is not.

  4. Ovi is just messin' with us. He'll train harder this off season and come back 20 lbs lighter and a new man for the 24-25 season.

  5. Wayne's point record is bigger then his goals record simply put you can take away all of Wayne's goals and he still has an all time points lead

  6. Since January 27th, Ovechkin has 13 goals in 21 games and 23 points.

He has the 4th most goals and 15th most points in the league since that date.

  7. Everyone quickly forgot that Ovi lost his dad late last season and needed time to grieve. I am EXTREMELY happy he's back!

  8. I hope he doesn't break Gretzky's record. Gretz is a good guy and Ovi is a Putin loving turd. It's our record, hurry up and retire and move back to Leningrad.

  9. I would not be surprised if Ovechkin was hurt to start the season because since the new year his goal-scoring rate has been at a much higher rate.

  10. This guy shouldn't be allowed to play the NHL because of his open support for a war criminal Putin! He shouldn't be even allowed to stay in the USA or in any western country like any Russian supporting the invasion! Big respect for guys like Panarin! That guy has balls and character!

  11. It was also his 128th game winning goal, moving within 8 of overtaking Jagr's record. He also scored his 308th and 309th PPGs, further distancing himself from the rest of the league by 35 goals. Further, Stamkos is the closest behind him of active players with 209 PPGs. it'll be a long tme before someone else breaks 300 PPGs. Not even Mathews is on pace for 300 in 1400 games.

  12. Washington should forget about trying to win to get into the playoffs and just make it their life's goal to get Ovy to at least 30!

  13. 1016 is the number of Goals 99 scored in the NHL. WHen talking most goals in a career, ALL goals should be counted.

  14. I love Ovi. For as long as I've watched hockey I've been a caps fan and hes been the star of the caps. His ass aint getting 50 goals next season. He's old and more or less has no new moves and everyone knows how to play him. Id love if he could get that many but that's just being realistic

  15. I donā€™t like seeing a Putin lover setting any records in the NHL. He should go back to Russia and play for his boyfriend.
