Who Are The Winners And Losers Of The 2024 NHL Trade Deadline?

The Vegas Golden Knights took advantage of long-term injured reserve again, and the Florida Panthers, Colorado Avalanche and Carolina Hurricanes (finally) went all in for the Cup. On the flip side, the LA Kings and Boston Bruins did almost nothing, the New Jersey Devils waited too long to shore up its goaltending, and the Toronto Maple Leafs and Edmonton Oilers made some head-scratching moves.

On today’s PHNX Coyotes Podcast, Craig, Petey and Leah break down the moves that the playoff contenders made at the NHL’s March 8 trade deadline. Plus, where do things stand for the Arizona Coyotes with 17 games to play in the season?

  1. maybe keller is a PPG guy (with no true C) and maybe schmaltz and maccelli are 55-60 pt guys and crouse is 45pt guy, nothing wrong with that, the last 3 make up solid middle 6 W group. problem is when dont have the top end talent (yet) the second tier guys are under microscope. the hope is cooley and guenther can become that top line w keller then schmaltz, maccelli, crouse can play where they really belong.
until the team develops that top tier (or trades or signs) talent, cant expect to get to next level, but cant blame the secondary tier for not taking the team beyond that they are.
the eye test on this season vs last is this team (outside dumba) is more competitive. the win/loss results are frustratingly not there yet though
