Went from high-flying offensive game against an Oilers team that canāt play defense with a shaky goalie, to playing none of the best defensive systems teams the next day.
Leafs didnāt adjust their play style and couldnāt get high danger chances for majority of the game. Need to learn to play tighter defensively from the jump against these teams because thatās what we will see in the playoffs.

Keefe responding that the difference tonight was a puck going off McCabeās skate into the net is not a good look. He should take responsibility, as he has before, for not establishing a defensive mindset throughout the lineup to start the game. Also the bottom six line combos tonight were wack. Not set up for defensive success.

Dog$hit effort by most of the team except for Woll, who was excellent. Brutal D-zone blind, backhand pass by McCabe leading directly to the 1st goal. You just can't do that. Domi had a clean look on a 2 on 1 with Matthews, but tried to force a pass instead of shooting which was the right option. Careless turnovers in all zones & a next to useless PP. They could've lost 7-1 absent Woll & weirdly could've tied or won it, if they had any kind of finish. I love the chintzy, marginal penalties called on Kampf & Holmberg, but the stick slash beside the Carolina net that broke Tavares' stick in two gets nothing. Knies, Robertson & Bertuzzi were simply not good enough & they all turned the puck over repeatedly.
I guess the Bruins have gotten tired of owning T.O. so they're passing the baton to Carolina.
Brodie was fine??? C'mon Keefer!! Call it what it is. He was dog shit again. He's a big boy making big boy money. This is a business, throw the feelings out the window and scratch him. Who gives a shit how he feels about it. They're way better with Benny in the lineup!!

That was an ugly scheduled loss haha, defense was so bad and how does the management justify putting brodie out there? You cant put all the blame on him, but holy hell is he not the solution.

stop scratching benoit, brodie shouldnt be playing unless there's an injury. this is the most optimistic ive been about a leafs team since 04 and this is the least faith ive ever had in a coach Keefes decision making is costing them big time this year

C'mon Sheldon, the team did great, they just missed the net a bunch of times and made the wrong choice to pass instead of shoot a few times. But you gotta be proud of their effort in the 2nd half of the game
The power play looks like dog š© for a while; when is Timothy gonna stop playing the point he's literally a 6-7 D playing on the #1 power play… n the zone entries by the leafs on the pp are brutal even when they do get in they are scrambling everywhere until it goes back out … how about instead of constantly doing that drop pass repeatedly when it doesn't work go old school have the forwards with speed dump the puck n go get it.. the power play is so bad everyone knows there just trying to serve it up to Matthews. Start getting pucks to the net n willing it in by getting dirty
Marner and Jarnkrok can't come back soon enough. Mitch may have been the difference-maker on the PP given how dynamic he is. And the PK would definitely be improved by getting two regulars back. Difficult to get a read on the new PK additions when two of the biggest parts of it are out with injury.

So, what does Keefe do? He brings in Brodie to absolutely throw the chemistry of the team (not just the back end) into the dumpster. Brodie hasn't been playing well the entire season, and you bring him in over Benoit or even Connor Timmins? Two guys that play with real bite and grit? š”
And prior to this, the 4th line with Reeves on it was finally really starting to gel and be really effective, and you could see how well it would work in the playoffs, then he brings in Gregor to throw that chemistry out the window. š¤Ø I like Gregor's speed and all, but he's too selfish a player to play in the bottom six and there is no room for him on the Leafs top six. Gregor just wants to try and score, often giving up puck possession, when puck possession is supposed to be his main job being on that bottom line. šµ
I just don't understand why Keefe would so willingly and knowingly give up these two points. It really burns my buttons!

The D didn't make sense. Should of stuck with same D from Edmonton win. The kibes should have Bobby M. On the top line with Matthews. Too many turnovers in this game. Woll 41 saves kept it from being a blowout.
