Gil,personally I think the whole team has played worse under st. Patrick . I don’t know what he’s thinking putting our best offensive player on the second line? Put Nelson back at second line center and stop playing games.

Martin and clutter are done. Holstrom can go back to Bridgeport or Sweden. I know Iskhakov doesn’t have a chance but he did win another game on Friday in the shootout. Breaking Bridgeports 4 game losing streak. Last season we were 1-6 in shootouts. This season so far 1-4. I guess we don’t need him. lol. Don’t get me wrong. I want to miss the playoffs and get senile Lou and his son out of here!
13, 14, 29 were playing well under roy until broken up and teams were focused on stopping them. 21 was for awhile. I can't say that was because of roy since 21 is a hot, cold scorer that was due to get hot for awhile before going cold. Can't really say anyone else has played well under roy. 8 can still be a nightmare on d end. 30 can't seem to play at last season's level. 21 gf, 23 ga. pp down to 17. pk still last so statistically isles haven't improved under roy. And -27 gf ga is not playoff caliber. This team has no strengths.
This team despite the coaching change just is not good enough for playoffs. The better question is if roy returns will he get an improved roster to work with? That will tell more about roy's coaching ability. And will louzer be back with roy? If louzer returns roy is fkd with this roster. Like i said last night PUNT the season away and take the draft positioning. Isles still in 10th in east 4 pts. behind caps who have game in hand and nj 1 pt. buff. 2 pts. behind isles. And with trip to tb, cats coming up things could look worse after fla. trip. Isles would get 13th pick as of now-if they keep first. Need to get into top 10.

I don’t think this team will make the playoffs and I don’t think this team deserves to make the playoffs. From what I understand, Lou has Malkin’s ear. Ledecky already suggested to Malkin that Lou should go and was told to mind his own business. And since Malkin is in Europe and doesn’t care about this team one way or the other, I can’t see any changes coming in management whether we make the playoff or not. It looks like we are stuck in this limbo situation with no foreseeable short term changes on the horizon.

Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? Who's been playing well since Patrick Roy took over? They have to really work their behinds off if they hope to make the playoffs. Bring up The Black Aces. Lou Lamoriello needs to do something and fast. They've got to The ☀ State, then there's Philadelphia. I thought they had it against Winnipeg, If I'm not mistaken this is Patrick Roy's first stint as AN NHL head coach, and I don't think he's doing a bad job. They're not using their heads, and he's right. Some of them aren't bad, but at the same ⌚, they can do better. Ilya Sorokin's nor playing up to his par, and he knows it, and that goes for anyone else who signed 👾 contracts. I like Patrick Roy, but there's a part of me that thinks he got advice from Bryan Trottier, who was an Assistant Coach in CO. I could be wrong on that, but it looks like he listened to him. I love players demanding the money and incentives maybe the contracts should be more accurate to the player and why they’re being signed- being signed as a goal scorer then and yes I understand incentives but there should also be 6 million a year for a 40 goal scorer and they come out and play lackadaisical they score 20 goals they get half the contract. You’ll see a lot more players putting in the work

Gm Gil. I fully expect a roster very close to this year next year because of how poorly this club is run. There is an argument that a team doesn't even have to be 500 to make the playoffs. This team is TERRIBLE and is still in the 'hunt.' The only reward for being elite is the top seed in the playoffs . This team was picked to not make the playoffs by pre season pundits. The number of well played games can be counted on one hand.
I do not think Patrick Roy is the problem. I hope he gets a chance during the changes or rebuild which may take place.

I know he's not going to do it, but your idea of bringing up players from Bridgeport, to see what they could do, is an excellent idea. I'm all ready to give them a go. I agree, Lou won't do that while we have, even an outside shot to make the playoffs. What do you think the chances of seeing the younger players would be if our chances of seeing the playoffs goes down to maybe 5%? I have a feeling that this off season is going to be massive for the Islanders. I believe that P. Roy now already has a list made up of the players he wants next year. IMO
The Islanders screwed us by winning a couple games before the trade deadline. We could have started the improvement process. I would say see what the Florida trip brings. Clearly if they lose both, it’s done. If they split, well then see how Philly goes.
My biggest fear is that he leaves and his son is elevated to the Gm position.
Gil, as time proceeds it has become fairly clear that Lamoriello has lost his edge and should be removed. Your views on giving the youth an opportunity to advance their game to the top tier are not only correct, but (as you have been pointing out) should have been done long ago!….I am still on the fence about Roy, was thinking he could become GM if ownership makes the move but honestly do not know enough about the workings of the job to make a call….Your thoughts?.
Too many OTL’s that is what is going to be the difference. At least beat the Rangers in the next 2 and the Devils to send a message for the future. Then again it could be just an off year for the whole team. Let’s face it…this is the same team except for Horvat and without Parise….Lou is just in denial and it’s sad. Hi Gil, great show! Well I’m exhausted—-it’s been a very long and depressing hockey season. As a fan—I’m burnt out. If owners don’t care—-at least be reasonable and next year allow the kids to play. Matty and Clutter bye bye. Trade Lee—eat half the contract and Maggio, Dufor and Ishikov make the team!! At least let the kids play next year. Can’t trade Lee?
