Sprong has been sprung. He may no longer have to worry where he's going to play in this confusing madhouse of musical chairs that is the Wings forward corp.
Gotta say that Sprong has played so, so much better than some of the other players on the Wings. The lackluster performances of a number of Red Wings players have brought the comraderie to a screeching halt. It's like those who decided to not play to their potential did so right after the trade deadline and when Stevie Y had banked on not making significant changes — claimed that the current roster was deep, but where was their DEEPNESS during the latest skid??? God help these Wings!!! LGRW!!!!

Sprong 's defensive lapses are mostly mental, not physical, thus they can be fixed. Coverage errors and positional play can be improved with training. Three games in the press box should boost his concentration on that side of his game. cause we NEED another high percentage shooter to improve goals for on high danger shots.

I’ve liked sprongs game this year, but right now if you made me choose between him and czarnik, I choose czarnik. Him or Fabbri I’d choose fabri for his more physical play style. Definitely Veleno over him. Copp might be the first guy I scratch honestly. Either way, missing sprong isn’t the reason we’re losing. Unfortunately, we lost our playoff buffer with that losing streak and now we’re in a stretch of games against teams that are just better. Doesn’t mean we cant win some, but it’s not surprising we’re losing either
Don't worry about the lineup for the next 5 years. Fans are satisfied with the Yzerplan taking 12 years.
I'm losing faith in Yzerman and the whole organization. Benching a guy who is 5th in pts during this important stretch ? Collapsing because 1 guy is out and getting 0 pts in 7 games? Yzerman hired Lalonde who isn't working. His drafting overall has not panned out so far. Seider is underperforming. It's a hot take but I think Simon will be better. Would like to see Fed or Larionov get a chance at coach .
