Check out Makar’s Shuffle and Crossunder/Crossover from the Bio Steel camp (2022).
The Shuffle and Crossunder are 2 outside edge mechanics that are often interchanged, with opposing rocker patterns, this is a perfect clip to distinguish between them!
_______________________________
On the Shuffle, notice:
1. Dynamic and soft shin angle: Knee goes forward and back.
2. Rocker pattern on his outside edge ➡️ Toe to heel.
Watch how he’s aggressively cutting with the heel of his skate
The shuffle is a very underrated and under practiced mechanic by most.

_______________________________
On the Crossunder, notice:
1. Shin angle ➡️ Knee over toe
2. Rocker pattern on his outside edge ➡️ Heel to toe
Watch as the pressure travels from the rear of his skate all the way to the toe, finishing with a slice.

PS: Peak Mcd in the background. Notice his shin angle vs Makar’s…

That’s Daryl belfry
Has weight middle back half of his blade when on outside edge and rolls it to the toe
Tbh I think this is over thinking skating, cuz when I skate, all that comes naturally for some reason
my feeling on crossovers is the feeling of my feet and skate connection on the ice my body is over my hole blade. l land my hole blade on the ice .
Y angle is really narrow
Toe drag
TDR And his crossovers at center
Edge work, I’m recovering from a fractured and badly strained ankle, and I never appreciated how much I took edge work for granted 😳
Book deals are payment for operatives, they will make anything a “#1 best seller” just by saying so!😂😂😂😂😂 😂😂😂
