  1. What a coward Mitchell is. It’s absolutely disgusting what he did. If he ever steps onto NHL ice, I hope he answers to a guy like Reaves or E. Kane.

  2. I don't know man, I've always seen all young hockey players as bullies, so this doesn't surprise me at all.

I absolutely love the sport, but you do know that players don't always mean everything nice they say in interviews? And that they say some of those things ONLY because they have to? Some of them are dickheads, just like the rest of us.

Now especially players aged 12-16 are probably bullies at school. Not that many would know that though, because the ones they bully are unpopular kids who have pretty much no one to tell about it..

  3. After the draft Coyotes GM Bill Armstrong stated the scouts liked his "Scrappiness". Is that them saying we liked the fact he was a legally Certified bully?

  4. When I was in middle and high school we had a kid, Wayne, who had Down Syndrome and the whole town loved him. He was esentially the mayor. The idea of picking on someone like that, even at that age, F that. I'm 40, that S' don't fly.

  5. There should be a zero tolerance policy for anyone who’s ever committed a hate crime even coming close to a position within the NHL. The fact that there are people defending this guy because he was 14 sickens me. Isaiah, the boy he abused, apparently had his head repeatedly smashed into a wall, consistently suffered battery and assault, was force fed urine covered candy and of course was subject to the obligatory racial epithets. Even if it wasn’t racially motivated that’s unacceptable for anyone the age of 14, and that is very clearly something that should follow you the rest of your life. If you’re inclined so much as to defend this guy, immediately assume his innocence without some very basic research then you are part of a larger problem and I don’t want you anywhere near the sport of hockey. The Coyote organization should frankly be ashamed.

  6. I highly doubt he's changed. Its inexcusable and I hope he never gets a chance in an NHL game.

  7. I can’t tell you other 14 year olds who acted like this clown of a kid. This kid is a joke and the coyotes are even worse for taking him. Fuck them both

  8. This kid did all this and didnt apologize for several years. But when he is going to be drafted he now wants to apologize for what he did. He isnt really sorry, he is just trying to save his hockey career.

  9. Just started the video but only from reading the titles can say the folks of Canes PR know how the internet work.

  10. Miller doesn't deserve the privilege of playing in the NHL. Pro athletes are paid well and made into heros and role models. No room for holding racist asshats up like heros.

  11. Miller just apologized cuz he wanted to get drafted he doesn't give a shit. If it was up to me he would either apologize to the kid and his family or hes uneligable to play professional hockey

  12. Miller should get banned from playing on any sports team (NHL or otherwise) for his entire life. Too bad this info did not come to light before the draft. Unfortunate the boy's family/friends did not come out publically to talk about it.

  13. Hi, Vegas Rhonda here: I know too, Shannon. My sister, long since passed away, was mentally and physically challenged from birth, was 4 years younger than I. I have witnessed the ignorance of people who say cruel things about them, when they can not speak up for themselves. This was way back in the 1960's. Now with all the social media platforms, this ignorance and cruelity gets magnified by a million times. I am crying now all these years later thinking back on those days. I am 68, she would have been 64 if she was still living. She passed away at 16.

  14. #TREVORDALEY: What exactly does a "hockey operations advisor" do? What qualifications does TD have for the job?
#MITCHELLMILLER: I think this Miller-kid's story will go nowhere. We'll have forgotten all about it by Christmas. Also, you're kidding yourself if you think he's the only "bully" that got drafted by an NHL team. It does seem a little troubling that you're forever-haunted by your stupidity in Jr. High. If he's behaved himself since then, I think he should be allowed to hit the reset button on life.
#SPACEHOCKEY: 2025 Winter Classic to be held on the moon. (Refs will have to endure countless "Uranus" jokes)

#OHLSEASON: Since the OHL doesn't have a players' union, who is looking out for health and safety of these kids? David Branch?

  15. Im not one to cancel kids for stupid tweets or other dumb things they did years ago but the things this kid did were borderline unforgivable.

  16. High school kids do the dumbest stuff to try to be cool. Almost all the time that involves bullying other kids that are different. If he does right by the person as an adult I don't think what he did should define him as a person forever. He should give the person 10% of his 3 year entry level contract (if he is offered that) and donate money to a good cause and publicly apologize. People make bad decisions, especially when they are teenagers.

  17. I have Borderline autism so I get it I’ve been bullied for my disabilities to because people don’t realize I don’t have a disability it makes me so sad no discrimination at all is good no matter what it is. Also Congrats Trevor Dayely on a great career!

  18. I wonder what would the league and teams think if Miller was a talent like Mcdavid? Not saying i condone what he did but i read and heard 1/3 of the teams didnt have him on draft list. That being said if he was a top generational talent i bet half the teams would take him and issue some statement.

  19. If, as an adult, he can send CYA letters to leagues but needs to be prompted to apologize to the guy he terrorized for years then he hasn't learned a darn thing.

  20. How old is Miller? 18. Still young, still dumb.
Those who agree, have been there. Those who don't, must be turning 18 soon.

  21. It's not being young, it's who teaches you those horrible things and how you act about it, it was his actions and it's a bad look on the coyotes, but people blaming the nhl is dumb, they didn't have anything to do with arizona drafting a racist bully

  22. I don't think it's right for people to get bullied under any circumstance, and society would be a lot better for it if people could respect each other's differences. With that being said, I don't think that people should be held back from ever making their own contributions to society based on something they did in the past, especially when they were a kid. I don't know all of the details about the guy the Coyotes picked, but I hope for him that he gets what he has coming for what he did, and once that happens he can put it behind him.

  23. as a brown guy i got bullied a lot and this stuff sticks with you all your life. i got a job and have a pretty good life but when this happened i could not focus on school. i am so glad i got moved onto a difference school and highschool and eventually got into an environment where no one bothered me so i could focus on my school. i got better and better and made a life for myself but this kind of bully behaviour stood with me all my life. canada is much more diverse now and my kids are not going to go through this. this is great but back in 87 and early 90s life was terrible. i hated going to school. started grade 6 in canada with no english. no one picked me to be part of a team in gym or any group for drama class. it was really tough. most of the kids ignored me and few bullies really made life really hard for me. i got tortured pretty bad. i wish i told my parents but after going into high school i experienced less and less of such people. as i got to grade 12 and OAC(grade 13) then i was really able to focus on my school work and made it to university.

  24. One insidious aspect from this very cruel act is the shaming involved. Shaming is hard to get a hold of and deal with at a person's core and can last a lifetime.
I hope Miller has to really deal with this and really understand the effects this has on the other kid. He has one heck of an opportunity being drafted by the Coyotes and I don't know if it's good for him or not. What he did is part of a repeated pattern that comes from his core. Dealing with the pressures of being a part of the Coyotes organization can be a distraction from processing this.
As for the other kid, my hope is that he has/is processing what happened and can release all the shame and crap that is a part of this and let go of it. This takes a lot of work, but I hope he gets some peace around this.

  25. well, its been a couple days and hes thrown the kid under the bus. And good on him for doing it. Maybe in the future the kid will have shown more remorse and deserve his second chance, but at this time he hasnt shown he deserves it.

And for the arguement that he was young when it happened, well now hes an adult and going to be university and still doesnt seem like hes learned from it.

  26. Would the media be making as big a deal out of this if it was a White kid with developmental disabilities? (Downs Syndrome or autism spectrum) The "hockey diversity alliance" and their media allies seem more upset about the racial angle in all of this.

  27. Michell Miller WILL NEVER play an NHL game because of the letter the victims MOTHER wrote to the AZ team. Just words from a mother is all it took. Shouldn't have gotten that far. Next in line is Millers mother for not making him apologize UNTIL mother #1 and victim foregave him. And no hockey until that happened.

  28. miller is a sociopath he is not sorry or feels bad, if he did he would have apologized after the first time,
In fact he got a kick off it, this is why it continued, he literally got a rise of the torture of this helpless kid.
only a sociopath would do that kind of shit and then call him self a good guy on and off the ice!!
he deserves all that is coming to him!!

  29. I'm just going to raise the obvious question that nobody is asking. At what point has Mitchell Miller paid his debt and who gets to decide that? Here in America when people break the law, they go before a judge and/or jury and their fate is decided there. Mitchell Miller was accused and convicted of assault. Hockey SANCTIONS assault. People are put in the hospital. Some have been crippled for life. Where do we draw the line? Is the sport so violent that it should stop immediately? Should we erase any remnants of hockey's violent history from our culture so we don't encourage such behavior? It's okay Canada, you still have curling….until someone takes offense to the color of your rocks.

This could be trouble for the NHL. Cave to the Twitter mob and they go away and leave you alone….right? NOPE! They find 10 more players on 7 different teams….GOOD players, All-Stars even. Do you fire your best players? That what's REQUIRED. What If they find an old Connor McDavid text message? Sorry buddy, YOU'RE OUT!

Mitchell is the first, but they're not trying to fight racism. They're trying to turn the NHL into a political entity. It doesn't matter if it ruins the sport. This is more important, Hockey be damned.

  30. Shannon, that punk kid knew what he was doing; the heat from this in Arizona wasn't the weather…shoulda never taken him.

  31. Was he not found guilty in court is this not good enough serve your time that sort of thing not good enough anymore, don't you think this hockey player had a mental issue as well he did not get the help he needed or maybe he did and now he's better but we won't have the chance to find out because he's canceled. Maybe you can play in the NBA or NFL they can beat and murder and still find a team
