BOSTON BRUINS GOING ALL IN FOR LEON DRAISAITL? (Edmonton Oilers Rumours)

BOSTON BRUINS GOING ALL IN FOR LEON DRAISAITL? (Edmonton Oilers Rumours)

All right this has been one of the hotter topics on the market the past little while and it all comes to us from a post made by Jim mat on the Edmonton Journal take a look at madd’s mailbag Oilers writer Jim mat answers some fans questions this will be linked in the

Description if you want to go ahead and read it and based off of the title based off of the thumbnail you know the lengths we are going to go to in this commentary we’re talking about one of the best hockey players in the world and whether or not there’s another team that

Will move Heaven and Earth to try to get this guy on their team we’re talking today about the lean mean German machine Leon dry cidal himself now last time we had talked about dry cidal we made a video going over his projected price how it was kind of talked about in the media

That $15 million might be whatever number it may take to get dryad to agree to a contract in the free agent market and we talked about Ottawa Montreal there are a bunch of teams that could be tossed into that conversation but I think most people writer Jim mat of this

Article included would pretty much guess that dry cidal will end up just sticking around with the Oilers I think that’s a pretty fair assumption to make but when it comes to this other team let’s go out there and read what mat has to say the first question in this Oilers mailbag is

How confident are you that the Oilers resign at least one of Connor or Leon mat says about 97% true Wayne Gretzky was sold to La by Peter pocklington a good but complicated owner clearly not Peter’s finest hour but I just don’t see McDavid leaving under the Daryl cats

Umbrella he’s a legacy Oiler like Sydney Crosby is a legacy penguin cats will make Connor whose contract ends after 2025 2026 the highest paid player in the league up to the max of 20% aav on the team salary cap ceiling that could be close to $20 million a year as the cap

Goes up next season’s cap is reportedly going up to 87.7 Million by 2026 maybe it’s closing in at 100 million now McDavid maybe he takes a bit of a haircut to help keep dry Sidle too and they’ll have Evan Bard in a rich new contract as well all we do know is that

McDavid is currently vastly underpaid at 12.5 million 33 points away from 1,000 and he’s only just turned 27 years old now pause before we go into the other conversation yeah McDavid making 20 million bucks that’s crazy but at the end of the day it’s not all too ludicrous when you consider the cap

Raising and the cap percentage I mean Conor mcdavid’s current contract if you just wanted to go through this quick aside right here hey comment I think this is a pretty interesting thing to talk about mcdavid’s 122.5 million aav contract was 16.6 6 7% of the cap back

When it was signed and it was the most expensive aav contract ever signed up to that point so now that we’ve got a 12.6 in McKinnon a 13 something in Matthews and somebody else going to make a lot more money too Conor McDavid in 2026 has the opportunity to making let’s say 16

18 maybe 20 million a year crazy stuff but I think that makes a lot of sense when you really think about it Leon situation though m is writes is trickier he’s only got one year left in his contract after 23 24 and he becomes a UFA so the clock is really ticking he’s

The NHL’s best bargain at $8.5 million a heart trophy a scoring title 350 goal Seasons Kudos today for former GM Peter Shelli for getting that contract done it’s All Quiet on the dry side of contract front nothing is leaking out but there are two ways he can go if he

Wants to stay he can sign a 4-year deal like Austin Matthews did in Toronto not knowing where the cap is going to go leaving himself room for another contract extension at 32 Matthew’s cap hit is at 13.25 million and Leon would want at least that maybe a tad more or

He can go eight years like fellow Senator Nathan McKinnon’s deal in Colorado McKinnon took a HomeTown discount at an aav of 12.6 mil but the Colorado Avalanche stud signed his deal based on the current cap of 82.5 mil I don’t think they’ll get dry Sidle for a

Number under 13 and the Oilers will want to know pretty soon one thing’s for sure they can’t let dry that’ll get into the 2425 season as a UFA I think Leon sees himself as malcol the Crosby and those two have been coupled for almost 20 years with the Penguins he wants to win

Here but the Oilers will want that commitment and fairly quickly because all we know is that he could get more in free agency somewhere else you don’t think the Bruins would move Heaven and Earth to get dry sadle now that final sentence is the entire reason we’re

Talking about this here in this video but before we dive into the Boston ruins I wanted to go over some of these contract options that are discussed by mat dry cidal has been underpaid this entire time and part of the reason we had the conversation about $15 million

Montreal Ottawa was because of the notion that maybe dry Sidle could have some sort of a makeup contract he gets a huge deal $15 million a year in the open market and that kind of pays him back for all the years he had in Edmonton

Where he was a 50 goal guy 50 goal guy 50 goal guy heart-winning guy art Rost guy at only $8.5 million a year he has the opportunity to get so much money and a lot of money that he probably was owed earlier on in his career but he just

Didn’t have the opportunity to get it because he was on an 8-year deal now though Leon dry cdle being in this spot where heading into 2425 he could hold himself out and not resign right away it makes things very interesting because as we had heard from Darren Dreer there is

An inkling in his mind that says that Leon Dr does not sign right away that he drags it out Dreer said in his report on overdrive that we also talked about in the YouTube video as well if you want to go ahead and check this out that he

Would actually anticipate Leon dry Sidle to not sign and to hold out and to really wait before committing any sort of contract to the Oilers he can take the pressure he can take the media everybody’s going to be asking about his contract the entire time he can do that

And he’s fine with that leand dradle is a type of Personality that would be okay pay with that kind of transaction but if you’re talking about potential options here what if the Oilers are not able to resign dry Sidle what if he becomes a UFA is it then Boston’s prerogative to

Really make a push and trade away whatever it is they need to trade a way to free up money and then get themselves dry sidal maybe at 14 $13 million a year mat says based off of the cap numbers it’d be difficult to see dry cidal even

Resigning with the Oilers at under $13 million a season so what more if he’s a free agent furthermore when it comes to the Bruins the fact that they would move potentially Heaven and Earth to get dry Sidle makes sense considering that their Center core right now no disrespect to

Pava zaka and Charlie Coy they have been the top two centers and one of the best teams in the NHL but these guys are not Leon ddal so is there an opportunity for the Boston Bruins to wait it out see what’s going on the bees can be like a

Vulture sitting on top of a tree eyeing their prey as it’s stumbling and fumbling down while the Oilers try to navigate this contract negotiation now I get it it’s probably a lot more likely that dry Sidle resigns with the Oilers instead of going to free agency pulling

A Johnny Gad and going elsewhere but if you’re a Boston Bruins team that has been reportedly interested in a top Center for a long time now ever since the departures of Bon and CI you can’t not look at the Oilers and salivate because the potential of Leon Dr Sidle

Being in the market is huge and it’s not even just Boston we had talked about the fan bases of other teams oh the auto Senators fans want dry Sidle because he could play with stla have a German German connection that’d be amazing oh the Canadians folks would want dry Sidle

Because he’s good and the Canadians don’t have a top center that is of that caliber Nick Suzuki is great but he’s no Leon dradle there are a lot of conversations to be had here in regards to money and free agency contracts but I want you to let me know your thoughts in

The comments section how do you feel about the Boston Bruins moving Heaven and Earth to grab Leon dry cidal do you think Boston is the most likely non- Edmonton team like if he had to rank it of course Edmonton is the most likely team that he sticks around with and

Signs a contract with whether that is in the shortterm or longer term capacity Alla Matthews or all McKinnon but if it’s not Edmonton what do you think is the most likely team is it Boston is it some other Squad out there looking for a center where do you think dry cidal gets

The most money does he go to a team just to get the bag or or does he stick around with a contender like the bees and tries to live out his career there let me know your thoughts in the comment section below about Leon drle and his

Future I hope you enjoyed this V troll 99 and Bye

  1. I doubt he's going anywhere. I mean, Ovi had to wat 13 or 15 years to get his first cup, so I believe in drai staying and resigning.

  2. I have played many years of GM mode. The only time I moved Draisatl in a trade was in like 2015 or so. Nowadays its not worth trading him. His value is so high that it makes sense to keep him FOREVER. Move every single draft pick available to build a great team already dammit and we wont lose any of our stars to shitass american teams.

  3. As I said one week ago he'll end up in Germany once his Edmonton contract is up. The second option Devils trade Hishier and sign Drais

  4. Look, here's the deal……Edmonton would rather trade him (unless he has a no trade clause) then to keep going into free agency and get zero return on this guy. So if a trade looks to become more likely, who is Boston going to trade for him not to mention the complete lack of draft pick assets over the next few years. So when it comes to trading him, Montreal is in a much better position with so much young talent on cheap contracts, perhaps add Caufield to the mix, and some draft pick capital which helps Edmonton who also doesn't have any draft picks over the next few years and their rebuild get's off to a much faster start then Montreal's did. Only thing for Montreal is guys like Pearson, Armia, Anderson, Gally, Dvorak all have to go one way or another by this time next year to even think Habs ownership will pay 14million for a guy. But in regards to him staying…..If Edmonton get's bounced out early again this year and next then yeah I see him wanting to leave.

  5. Matheson and Leon Draisaitl have a kind of a negative relationship. Anything Jim has to say I wouldnā€™t count on it being true.

  6. If he wants +14 were better off trading him away Jesus. Mcdavid sure can demand that but drai imo no. We're (oilers) better off finding a Bergeron caliber player for anything near that. They need better defensive forwards rather than more and more and more firepower.

  7. Playing everyday with the best player in the world holds value. Heā€™ll want to stay and play, and hopefully win cups, with McDavid.

  8. He either signs with us(more likely) or we deal him sometime between this summer and next season. Oil wonā€™t let him walk for nothing and they will make sure they get top dollar for him in the trade market.

  9. He will and should get paid. I dont blame him at all if he takes the bag somewhere. It comes down to does he want money or a good chance to win along side McDavid? I think Edmonton will make it work though
