I play a game called “Asshole” with a friend. It’s someone that wears a jersey unrelated to the game. There’s always Assholes in Oilers, Canucks, Toronto, Montreal, Boston jerseys at a Flames game when they’re not playing the Flames. Rules to the game… 12 and under aren’t “assholes” bc they’re too young and their opinions can be heavily influenced by their parents. A team Canada jersey w Iginla on it and/or a player on the opposing team (Crosby), not an Asshole. Anyone in a Chiefs jersey (the fucking machine took my quarter) not an asshole.

I see someone in an Oilers jersey at every game I go to no matter who we’re playing, and it pisses me off everytime. The worst offender was when I saw someone wearing one to Game 7 against Dallas a few years ago. The guy couldn’t have waited two days for his actual team to show up? This is part of the reason why I refuse to go to games against Edmonton now, I just can’t deal with their fans anymore.
I can certainly say I would never wear a Flames jersey to a game if they weren’t one of the teams playing, but I would also never go to an NHL game if the Flames weren’t playing in the first place.

It’s not just here, I was lucky enough to be in NYC when the outdoor game was happening at MetLife to see Isles vs Rangers and some Oilers fan was wearing her jersey. Ugh.
To be fair though, I hate when anyone does this, doesn’t matter the team. I’ll always represent my team with a hat but a jersey? Too damn far.
