  1. The luckiest third period in NHL history they got handled the whole game and got nothing but bullshit lucky deflections they didn't beat Allen clean once so sad so very very sad

  2. I think if they can pull off a regulation win against the Caps then they are in. I feel they probably know now how fortunate they are to be in a place to turn the table on this season, and they'll be able to ride this momentum all the way to the postseason. Not that they will probably do anything once there, but at least a flower can be planted in this otherwise pile of crap season. The Caps and Flyers are tumbling hard and doing everything they can to hand the Penguins a playoff opportunity. Unlike the last few games of last season, they need to accept it this time.

  3. Thank God there's some real respected competition in these last few games. If it was all against the Buffalo's and San Jose's of the league, I think they'd be lucky to win two.

  4. If Jarry was in net, Pens would have lost these last two games.. the Pens just play way better in front of Ned.. it's like they are confident he can keep them in games.. My god, if Pens keep this up, Jarry better not suit up again this year

  5. I've been saying for a while that Ned was not playing to his full potential in Detroit, like he did in Carolina. I really liked the signing last summer. I thought he was a safe bet to turn things around for himself and be either a strong backup or a good candidate to take over the net. It took a few months, but it has clearly happened. Goalies don't play double-headers anymore, especially not the "backup." I'm not convinced Jarry is under the weather. I think it's an excuse to avoid questions about him. I don't know if it was his play, or maybe an attitude off the rink, but he should have gotten one of the two starts. Instead, he has sat out, what is it, 5 or 6 in a row now? Unless Ned looks tired, I think given their desparate situation he'll play out the season.

I happy for Ned. I'm scared of the long term in Jarry's contract. They need ro find cap space to keep Ned next season. He's a UFA this summer. Who knows, if the Pens used him more this year, it could have been 6 or 7 extra points and we wouldn't be talking missing playoffs again.

  6. all of a sudden they have motivation…..a little late. Nad playing back to back is a testament to the goalie situation. Jarry being "sick" is only a cover up

  7. Look at the back check (or lack there of) by Riley Smith in the third. There are guys out there still dragging the team down and have been all season.

  8. The story last night was that was a microcosm of the Devils season … they don't play a 60-minute game, and they don't get a save. Good for the Pens to take advantage of that. The Pens still had to come out in the 3rd and play like their season depended on it. But don't lose sight of the fact that the Devils stopped playing in the 3rd, and they've been doing that all season.
