Bruins Highlights: Best of Boston’s Dominant Performance Against Nashville

All right welcome to Bruins overtime live presented by bi toyota.com Sophia Billy and Razer here with you three nothing the final over the Nashville Predators it took 40 plus minutes it was about five six minutes left in the game when Charlie Coy scored that goal ended

Up winning 3 nothing started the uh the I was going to say the fireworks but when it rains it pours and he got it going guys in a game that the Bruins how did you feel as we’re calling these games especially against playoff teams test how did you feel the Bruins hand

The test thought they had a good game uh especially the third period yeah okay even though they gave up chances and there’s no doubt that I mean look Nashville’s pushing they’re in the whole playoff race thing too but the Bruins handled that really well between their PK their goal tender which are usually

Con conjoined right um but then also the big guys coming through poock was great all game Coyle with that shot but overall like the way they played in team defense team defense team defense for the most part was really good it was really good no odd man rushes the

Chances came off of trying to break the puck out turnovers In Their Own Zone that wasn’t always great that but that’s going to happen especially against the Nashville Predators it’s going to happen in the playoffs too that’s why you have goenda their game I I did I thought it

Was a great 60-minute effort on the road in Nashville traveling here and there and at this point in the season so uh really bod’s well for them going into Carolina Thursday yeah as I mentioned Charlie Cole uh getting the game winner the first goal and uh that’s all they

Needed even though they added a couple more guys his last one was March 16th and his 24th of the season was here yeah so Razer before this not this shift but before this lenus actually didn’t handle the puck great on the previous yeah he went backhand rather than for behind the

Net Harry sizzles it up high off the glass cars perfectly to Brad legit assist right that’s assist right there and and watch Charlie Co just take off he’s yelling Brad pulls up spins hits him with the pass and that’s his move that’s Charlie Coyle we see in the

Shootout all the time little fake backand and Chip it up and over UC Soros it’s even easier to chip over not the biggest golender like you alluded to in the pregame uh he gets real low on these breakaways as soon as he drops Charlie does a great job going up and over the

Shoulder what a beautiful play cannot emphasize enough the importance of that high offthe glass shot you know off the wall there’s a good chance it stopped but it’s high off the glass yeah the for Checker from the PRS couldn’t leap to get it and remember it’s shorthanded so

What’s the big deal if it doesn’t connect with Brad going out like that you just don’t turn the puck over in your own zone so the height of that clear by lenus that’s what started everything right there yeah and as you mentioned a short-handed goal the Predators 0 for four with the man

Advantage so the Bruins penalty kill strong all game and they had to kill another one to Mason Laura in the third period it was awesome it it was connected it was aggressive they were clearing the puck extremely well whenever they got the opportunity but most of all they were great at the line

And and we’ve seen the troubles the Bruins power play has had entering the zone at the blue lines making plays they made Nashville look the same way tonight in their neutral zone was just perfectly executed the pr Scout we talked about this is the one play we kind of ooh Lena

Should have went back behind the boards but they ended up converging they ended up smothering the puck and they ended up getting it out with before anything too crazy could happen and and it was just a real solid effort from that group and back to- back games on the road yeah and

Again we continue to see guys like an Andrew Peak get out there for important minutes and the those are the kind of minutes that will get him ready more so for playoffs than anything right those high intensity minutes short-handed showing what he’s he can do that that’s

What he does he’s not going to be out there for offensive minutes so good to see him out there makoy again but I I really thought the forwards supported the D real well you mentioned at the line we featured that after the uh first intermission we showed how Nash likes to

Attack coming in or entry try to entry attack on the right side the Bruns did a really good job of sealing that area and then getting on them out numbering them there yeah pregame we were talking about all the little details that the Bruins have to and all teams really have to

Figure out heading into the postseason but the Bruins as they’re looking to get ready and defense solid play uh that we’ve talked about in the intermissions guys but this is something that carried out throughout the game that you likeed seeing well like Billy just talking about this these are the details these

Are the little plays that that Harden you and strengthen you come playoff time in the z00 game that can’t happen in a playoff game uh that can off the glass nothing fancy um that can’t happen off of a one face off you got to get the

Puck back and they do that they close out and continue to force so uh for for player and Peak that these guys the back end uh Mason loride did a pretty good job all in all being hard and making hard plays with the puck in his own zone

So the this is playoff hockey and these Corner battles all getting used to that extra little edge of competitiveness that is coming into the league right now is is what’s important yeah I I mean this was just a this was a work game I mean this is what this this was not a

Fancy we had transition in the first period meaning clean through the neutral zone but not a end to end Rush game we even you know Nashville was creating off of hard work Bruins were creating off of hard work so hard work has got to be balanced by hard you know good stout

Defense both teams for the most part especially through two periods did it yeah absolutely well guys between the pipes is presented by Roden Heiser Home Services address leaky faucets and slow drains to receive $50 off your plumbing repair schedule at rodenhiser docomo allmark in the intermissions he

Had an assist today but guys solid night for him shut up as good as couldn’t be better exactly could not be better is his movement his attention to detail his Focus through of some of the crowds in front um it really I I don’t there wasn’t anything that I’d even nitpick on

Saves that he made let alone being perfect on the shut out he was he was lights out tonight very very solid and continues is great play that’s now seven games in a row with three goals or less uh his numbers are continually slowly Rising which is difficult to do at this

Time of year um love his game right now yeah yeah he’s in a great spot sure I mean right now you know he has taken over the higher end of the play I mean the you know it’s he had lost his previous two but as you mentioned take a

Look star of the game the Subaru star of the game I’ll let you do that oh thanks my yeah I get paid for right big time yeah probably by Subaru no not by Subaru by nessen but if they want to pay me they can he is our subu star of the game

Little yeah I’m over here in his last seven starts guys four two in one including the shut out 32 save shut out by the way so uh great stuff for him and he was our guest he pulled a U Razer Adam pin got to talk to a goalie he talked to Adam post

Game uh lenus congratulations on the win what you you think about the team’s ability to really close things out in the third period that was great job you know we battle all 60 minutes we know it’s going to be a hard game they came in here with a lot of confidence but uh

We uh really went to work we show them how good we are and then the penalty kill coming up huge tonight you’re obviously a big part of that talk about the work that the unit did including yourself I think we did a great job of

Not even allowing them to set up in zone which helps a lot you know you don’t want them to have long extended shifts in the in the offensive zone so that’s where guys gets tired you know and they start battling a bit and they kind of

Get a lost sometimes uh so looking back at it you know I’m very proud of the fellas we just showed the save of the game on The Telecast it was the Ryan O’Reilly save the one that you made and made a number of other saves tonight how

Do you feel about your game right now as you get closer to the posy uh it’s it’s tough you know every game is a new challenge uh you’re not as it doesn’t matter what you did last game when a game prior it’s all by looking forward and keep performing you know focus on

The process and not get too carried away with the result based thinking and it’s been working well lately in that department uh I got you know got a lot of confidence in the fellas in there as which we all feed off each other you picked up an assist tonight sway had an

Assist against the Panthers that’s two goalie assists in like a week how about that yeah got to keep a h streek going three s streek great lus thanks for your time congrats on the win thank you all right guys you have some goals to talk about it was looking a little

Slim over there but goals and a win and your birthday I keep saying that but yeah you get to work a little longer on your birthday isn’t that nice isn’t it what you dreamed about as a kid yeah yes absolutely yes work longer with Razer

All right you guys can catch a brand new morning Brew that’s being recorded tonight it’s on ness.com slmp podcast or if you use something else to listen to your podcast you can listen there and it’s proudly presented by Burk Sher Bank coming up after the break let’s get Jim

  1. I disagree with the title (again). The Bruins were fairly consistent for 60 minutes but It was a pretty even game. It was a great game to watch and when the Bruins got the shorty, I think I was more excited than Jack Edwards (If that's possible) 😉 Kudos to the Bruins for continuing to be aggressive after that and getting another goal and then the rare 6-on-5 goal.
