    League is a joke. Teams shouldn’t be able to commit penalties when they’re on a PK because they know it won’t be called. It’s just like how teams hold in the NFL because they know they won’t call them all

    Say what you will about the refs, Lightning need to play better. Getting bodied by the leafs all night. They’re having way too much difficulty entering the zone & Reeves has been all over us causing havoc. Curious to see how we change the game plan in the second

    This is just how officiating works in the NHL—when they’ve called 3 penalties against you, one of which resulted in a goal, they’re not going to call a 5-on-3—but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team *so* blatantly confident about it. I don’t blame them though; that’s how teams should be acting until the NHL fixes this problem.

    Hedman gets tripped and boarded in the same shift vs Reaves, no call. Point headshotted/interfered with, no call. Hagel tripped, no call. The latter two coming during our powerplay. Then they call the epic dive ‘interference’ even though LG is entitled to his ice. Haven’t seen a more blatant “keep things even” call in some time. The one time this year we’re in form to beat them and we’re playing 7 on 5. Awesome.

    I told my wife after the last Toronto penalty “well fuck, now no matter how many penalties they commit, the next call will be on the Bolts.” I had no idea I’d be so correct.

    The leafs knew the refs wouldn’t call a penalty and took advantage of it. The league will never grow in popularity when it’s so obviously arbitrary

    honestly I dont want the third atlantic spot. Florida is slipping meaning boston will win the division. We can draw boston and let Leafs and Panthers fight it out
