  1. Kyper is not kidding – Simon was scary – he is the only player that I was honestly afraid he might kill someone – He was that big , strong – and when he got mad had another gear – he bought space out on the ice

  2. Haha tortz won and as a leaf fan since 1992 it's almost worth it because you guys are so insanely wrong about him. He just made all you talking heads look like fools cause he gets results. Also I can't believe it's lost on all three of you that what you complain about Keefe is what tortz does so well. Gets results. I'd love for him to coach the leafs. Trade Keefe for tortz and atleast our pk would finally look good.

  3. Also, torts doesn't have to answer to you ir any of the media. You don't hold anyone accountable, this a sick joke. You're a sports media, get a clue. Tort has to answer to his boss and the players have to answer to him.

  4. Sammy mckee wanted to trade eastton cowan and mitch marner. This proves beyond a doubt that he doesnt know anything about hockey.

  5. God dam I can’t wait until summer for treliving to rebuild the leafs defence it’s softer than butter what they need is tanev savard ritso for some much needed snot also add chychrun and pesce

  6. Sad to hear about Chris Simon, who I loved watching on the Avs (especially as a heavy metal fan appreciating how he rocked the long hair).
Given his struggles with head trauma after his playing career, it's a bit unfortunate to hear that all people remember is his punching prowess (and one good scoring season).
Physicality (and thus fighting) is a part of the game, but the kind of fights Simon (and Kyper) often felt like they had to get into can take a lifelong toll on these guys.

  7. Playoff defence pairings Reilly lybushkin McCabe Benoit lilejgren edmundson 7;th Brodie I wish they would call up neimela for a couple games and see what they have in him

  8. Leafs top six next season knies Matthews marner Tavares Crosby nylander bottom six crouse minten Cowan holmberg dewar reaves

  9. I also don't think scratching Couturier was necessary (although they did win the game…), but Leafs fans must be so traumatized by the Babcock years that they see him everywhere they look…

Torts doesn't want attention. He's just a stubborn man. (I want to say 'stubborn old man', but he was just as stubborn when he was younger…) He'll never stop believing that he's right, and he literally doesn't care who he hurts or offends so long as he thinks it's something he needs to do.

Historically, yes, his tactics will wear out his welcome within a few years. But making him out to be some narcissistic diva is a stretch.

  10. Oilers traded Gretzky, so it's possible to happen to Crosby. As a Caps/Ovechkin fan, as much as I dislike Crosby it would very weird seeing him play in another jersey.

  11. For the Oilers, they needed some net depth and a stay at home d-man would have help them a lot down the stretch and in the playoffs.

  12. Just like Jusi Saros with the Preds, Lindgren is on another level for the Caps. Both goalies have similarities where they are very quick/good reading the play and both are similar in their size(Saros is 5'11" and Lindgren is 6'). It's good to see goalies on the smaller side dominate among the bigger goalies in the NHL.

  13. 2:46 You mentioned Simon being in the realm of Bob Probert. Them two on a line playing for Chicago was a special time in NHL enforcer history.

  14. Are you serious? Coots is not young star here, he’s not doing his job in locker room he’s not getting guys going, we don’t care about his ego bs he’s on his way out anyway, torts is best coach since Keenan we live him and they better get there u no wats moving, I know they have no D do Toronto will not make 2 nd round flyers beat them ( no D) lol good coach keep kissing players u no wat lol

  15. Great show – but Sam – it's a bit myopic to say 'Sid wouldn't consider the habs'
He would. 100 % MTL can be ready in 2 years easily if they wanted to. They have SO many picks and prospects if they moved even a quarter of them they could be contenders in 2 years. Crosby would accelerate that. Suzuki and Sid down the middle would be perfect. 👍
