New York Rangers former 1st overall pick Alexis Lafreniere is finally having a breakout season and seems like he’s still got the potential to be a top line talent at the NHL level. I’ve always been a huge fan of Laffy and knew if he was put in the correct situation he could excel which we’re seeing this season.

Glad he is finally coming along. You could see the potential all these seasons but this season he really got it all together!
Im still suspect. He doesnt do anything great. Hes not fast or strong. He does have a good shot but he was a number overall pick. Should have been an elite player.
I'm excited to see with his confidence up going into the playoffs if he can grab himself some glory perhaps Ala Stephen mattaeu.
52 points..6 on the PP. If he was on PP1 that spends 90 seconds on the ice per opportunity he would easily have another 20 points end of story! Laviolette should have replaced Zibanejad with Lafreniere along time ago, but if 3 coaches can watch Trouba and MIller together and not think MIller was better off with Schneider then I donāt know what goes on in their headsā¦ but thatās another video š

Only 6 of those points came on the PP. And he had horrible puck luck in the first half; he'd probably be around 35 goals if he scored at the rate he has been after the ASG.
Iām so happy he is finally showing what he was gonna be mabye not a generational talent but I could see him hit like 75-80 points next year no cap he is getting his money big time
Past 2 months, this kid is locked in. So nice to see him get rewarded for all the work. Pucks that weren't going in the first 3 months, are now finding the back of the net Couldn't come at a better time. LFGR!!!
Laffy still need a bit of work but, I can see the improvements in his game. Still needs to work on his passing a bit more and he needs to be a bit stronger when he has the puck. Overall Laffy is on track which is a great thing to see. Besides, this was more Quicks night, breaking the USA born goaltending record for most wins. Congrats Quick on becoming the soul recorded holder of Wins by a USA borne goaltender.

Just goes to show you that not all first-overall picks are going to come out guns blazing from the start. You have to have patience and let them find their game. Way to go Laf!
