  1. Kapanen is an outstanding skater and puck handler. He also has a pretty lethal shot, but I wish he would pass the puck more. He seems like the type of player who wants the puck to himself, and his point totals have fallen off quite a bit since the first 20 games or so of the season. Opposing players know he is going to try to skate around them and beat the goalie on his own, and I think this is becoming too predictable. He has the skill to cycle the puck and create space for his teammates (similar to Nylander), he just doesn't use it. That's why I disagree with the people that say Kapanen is as good or better than William Nylander. Nylander has a lot more tricks up his sleeve, and actually makes elite level passing plays, while also being a threat to shoot with his above average wrist shot. And Nylander can also FLY with the puck when he chooses to, which backs off the opposing D, and allows him to set up in the offensive zone with his teammates. Kapanen is fun to watch, but he needs to mix it up a little in order to really stand out as an elite top 6 forward. I'd say the Leafs should bridge him this summer. Give him 2-3 years at roughly $3 million per. He's on pace for a 50 point season, which isn't exactly Connor McDavid territory, but I think he can develop into a 60-70 point player if he can learn to be more diverse.
