This game was absolutely crazy…Kessels first goal back in Toronto, the insane JVR goal, giving up the lead as was customary that Season, Downtown Connor Brown giving us the lead, McBackup robbing Crosby and Matthews hitting 40.
This was a special night to be a fan. Heres hoping for more moments like this in the next few months.

Crazy how things have come full circle. I remember watching that game thinking “I wonder how Pittsburgh fans feel watching this game where their team is just playing spoiler”, and now the shoe’s on the other foot. Also a shame everyone remembers Gardiner’s own goal because that was his best year as a Leaf.
I jumped out of my seat watching this live. This was my favorite memory of the leafs, maybe just overtaken by Tavares winner last year. I’ve rewatched the last 5 minutes of this game on YouTube countless times. Years of watching awful leaf teams finally replaced by hope and then playoffs to watch.
A great save but this call just doesn’t have the same passion as [the Joe Bowen call](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sdDnKQ0aOOE)
We beat the cup winners that year to break our own playoff curse.
If I had a nickel for every time the Leafs played the Pens at home on April 8th in the Nylander era, I’d have 2 nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s strange that it’s happened twice.
🎶hey McElhinney, McElhinney,McElhinney….
hey McElhinney!🎶
Fun fact: don’t remember why but McElhinney posted something on insta that made me message him saying ” leaf fans will forever remember you for your save on Crosby” and he liked the message. Nbd
Crosby didn’t talk to his doctor about Cialis.
BackupLhinney!
Than Matthews gets the open netter for his first 40 goal season.
Almost forgot how much I don’t miss Houston
