  1. What's going on with this league? The playoffs have bush-league niveau in officiating and repect among players. Give the refs their whistle back. Players can't protect themselves anymore or you rejuvenate the enforcer a la Reeves

  2. First time I am seeing this. That looks a lot worse than people are making it sound. He hit him leading with his knee. I don't think I have ever seen anyone hit a person like that. Dangerous accident if that is what it was.

edit: It is probably similar to any other time a player sticks out their knee to intercept an opponent's knee/leg in open ice, but it just happened to be against the boards and driving into the boards.

  3. I don't get why nobody fought Kunitz, Callahan or Palat for their hits. We need fighting as it prevents dangerous hits from happening.

  4. Kunitz knew what he was doing. Also, I think the Cullen attempted knee on Killorn should have been looked at.

  5. Nothing was wrong with this hit.. Johnson turned towards Kunitz while he was coming in for the hit thus exposing his knee to injury. If he stayed on the boards and tried to absorb the hit, he would not have had the injury in the first place.

  6. Kunitz tried hitting him but Johnson moved last second to avoid being hit. nothing wrong here. good none call.

  7. This is obviously the Tampa Bay announcer. "And if that's not boarding… That was very similar to the Callahan hit…". There is nothing similar about it. Callahan hit Letang squarely from behind, erlbowed him in the head, and extended his arms in follow through. On this hit, Johnson (a shifty, elusive player) sidestepped Kunitz who attempted a clean hit. The result wasn't good, but it was not a dirty play in my opinion. For those that disagree, fine. But putting this on the same level as the Callahan hit is a disgrace and the home town announcer should be embarrassed of the comparison.
