The Avalanche Have a MASSIVE Problem

Today we talk about the recent struggles that the Avalanche have had. #avalanche #coloradoavalanche #nhl #hockey

  1. The one thing I have seen is another issue, something that was touched on, the turnovers in our own zone due to lazy skating and half-hearted passes. This is something I've noticed in the last 2 seasons. Not given a 100 percent effort resulting in a turnover then becoming a goal for the other team. Another thing I must note is that there are too many passes looking for the perfect shot instead of just putting the puck towards the net. There's a time for being unselfish, and then there's shoot the damn puck. I hope the Avs heart is in it as much as us fan's are.

  2. I would completely agree with the analysis in this video. I don't think I'm to the point of being as concerned yet, but the defensive structure could definitely be better. They've had plenty of games where they checking hard, going after pucks, winning battles, and limiting shots. It is definitely something that is drilled throughout the season but it seems like they've shown some flashes too where they played structured and showing that championship pedigree. I won't say they are throwing games, but part of me feels like they aren't pushing to win like we know they can. I think they took that away from last year when they pushed hard at the end of the season and it seemed like there was no energy left for that first round. I could be wrong but like you said, to go from 9-0 to now 2-4-1, that's crazy. Not to mention the amount of comebacks they've had against solid teams because they stuck to their game and structure and the goalies did what they needed to do. Just my gut feeling, we will see a different Avalanche team in game 1.

  3. I’m not worried about the jets, or the Canuck’s, the only two teams that make me nervous are the preds and the stars. I think the goalie issue is the biggest issue. Guys start feeling like they have to do extra to keep the offensive pressure up, because there is no D like good O. Unfortunately we keep getting caught over and over again on breakaways. Then the guys stop trying all together because they are worried about getting burned again, so the puck lives in our zone. I like us against the stars overall. Our boys chased them down three times and took away the easy empty netter-no quit.

  4. I do want to say that I’m not counting this team out. I love the Avs and fully believe in them, but something has to change if they’re going to win the cup. Just wanted to make a video and point out our problems that need to be addressed

  5. Giorgiev is not going to be able to steal the eventual game or two… I'm not even sure if he is better than Kuemper was

Regardless, the overall team chemistry is off somehow. Not willing to shoot and looking for a pretty pass too often.,

Nashville is more dangerous than Winnipeg, so we should get past the Jets if we don't take bad penalties.

    …after that, who knows!

  6. Just remember this team did this same exact thing 2 years ago, ripped off a big win streak and immediately followed it by losing 6 of 7 to end the year. Does this team have some issues yes but so does everyone. Boston didn't have and weaknesses last year at all and lost first round, regular season honestly, truly does not tell you a thing about the playoffs. Especially with this core, I think they just get bored

  7. Agree overall, good analysis. Our D has played well at times recently so they are capable. But the recent play has been nothing necessary to get to cup much less to win it.

  8. I love the Avs but the constant issues that have plagued the team all season makes me feel that the Avs are just a paper tiger. Put enough pressure on them and they'll crumble and make mistakes over and over again.

  9. Yep were getting bounced round 2 and wasting MacKinnons absolute monster of a season im saying it rn and dont give me that "this is exactly how the 2022 season ended" nonsense that cup winning team clinched the WESTERN CONFERENCE with like 10 games left, we didn't care about the presidents trophy as we won it last season we wanted the cup so we rested MacKinnon, Makar, Rantanen, Nichushkin Lehkkonen etc. im also pretty sure we played annunen a few times despite Keumper and Francouz both being healthy and lead to the avs playing our eagles roster against teams that still have positioning to play for. Compare that to this year where we basically lost the central and are still in a dog fight against the jets for that second place spot and home ice, we still are icing our entire line up minus injuries and we are playing this bad its very concerning and has actual cause for concern this close to playoffs unlike the 2022 team that was only loosing because the top guys were benched so they can rest up

  10. The Hart trophy is based on regular season numbers and not playoff numbers. The AVS defense is bad because Makar and Towes are tired after 78 games of playing 24 + minutes per game. Duh

  11. Again, Girard needs to go. He give sup at least one goal a game, and is on the ice for three of the goals in this video. He is terrible defensively, does not provide a whole lot offensively, and comes with a 5 mill dollar price tag. He and MacFarland need to go.

  12. What happens when the Avs get embarrassed? They light a fire under their ass and terrorize the league for two months. This could not have happened at a better time. I’d be much more concerned if they were on a streak and didn’t have anything in the tank. And we should have players back before playoff time

  13. So what we lost 1 game to dallas they whipped up on them every other game! Dallas looked lost as he'll when we beat them too! I think your taking this a bit far
