Who pissed in Ortega's cereal?
there’s a really good book about the american south west’s water issues called Cadillac Desert. for anyone who’s interested in that kinda stuff
The real question is would the mayor of Scottsdale say the same thing about the Phoenix Suns?
There was a goalie who was 6'6" as a 16 year old. Crazy
SCOTTSDALE had its Chance to have the YOTES at Los Arcos Decades ago….they DIDNT WANT them in their Backyard!!. AZ has Water Resources from the C.A.P. in Reserve(UNLIKE FORNICALI that lets Rainwater go into the Ocean!!
Scottsdale mayor just upset it's in Phoenix
All major league sports arenas and stadiums should be built near urban centers, not way out in the suburbs. They also need mass transit access, we can't have everyone driving to the rink. Most Canadian NHL and Pro Sports buildings (of course New York City too) have rail transit, walkable urban areas surrounding them, or lots of buses. Ottawa is pursuing an arena downtown with O-train access. Why can't the Coyotes build something near downtown Phoenix? Isn't the proposed rink on desert land that should be left in a natural setting? Phoenix is just sprawling over desert land instead of building up and densifying to avoid encroaching on nature. No wonder water is an issue there. Parts of North America are too focused on auto development, Phoenix especially.
The Scottsdale mayor has no say in the matter. In the proposal for the arena, the Coyotes have agreed to connect it to Phoenix water & utilities. If he read it, he would know that. It's just political posturing.
Think of it this way, you're building a pool and reminding your backyard, but your neighbor doesn't like it and is mad saying you'll be having too many people over your place and use his water. In this case, Scottsdale Rd is where the fence is (it's literally the boundary line) and Phoenix is west of the fence and Scottsdale is east
As a guy living in Canada. I sometimes completely forget how blessed we are with so much natural water resources available.
From Ottawa traffic not that bad, its worse in MTL/Toronto but ur heart of downtown. Ottawa you arent
Im out in 10-20min and thats not leaving early.
(unless bus'ing then no idea)
(OHL 67's is worse imo)
Whats the kids in cm and kg?
Coyotes franchise: "hey guys we finally got a spot for an entertainment complex!!! No more worrying about us having a home!"
Scottsdale mayor: "what about water?"
Coyotes: "we didn't think about that"
Waste Management open draws in 700,000 people and never hear the mayor of Scottsdale complain about traffic. The new arena is in Phoenix, not Scottsdale so Im not sure why this mayor is even talking.
I like how the mayor said water assets they werent planning to use couldnt be used. Considering the coyotes knew that the infrastructure wasnt there and planned on having to connect via phoenix anyway. Just pointless pot stirring. His opinion doesnt matter. Its not Scottsdale land and it wouldnt use those assets anyway.
The Scottsdale mayor would not say a word if the Cardinals, Diamondbacks or Suns were their new neighbors.
Seems like the entire state of Arizona just hates the coyotes lol
Coyotes ———————> Salt Lake
Salt lake city, Houston and Quebec all have plenty of water.
raise your hand if you are sick of the Arizona drama.
Scottsdale is the most upscale area of metro Phoenix. This area is home to a lot of new development in Scottsdale and North Phoenix — brand new corporate headquarters for ASM, Axion, DIscount TIre and Republic services. Two of the most expensive zip codes in all of Arizona are NEXT TO THIS DEVELOPMENT. I do not want to be near a monstrous eyesore like this (I live in North Scottsdale). We have enough shopping and probably too many restaurants. All will get developed is an out of place arena with no public transit and an already strained freeway system.
And the saga of the Yotes continues 🤕
I LIVE IN GOODYEAR AZ, I WAS JUST 20 MINUTES AWAY FROM WHERE THEY PLAYED IN GLENDALE…THE CURRENT SPOT THEY ARE LOOKING AT IS OVER 1.5HRS AWAY IN TRAFFIC, AND NOW THAT HALF OF CALIFORNIA HAS MOVED HERE, THERE IS ALWAYS HEAVY, HEAVY TRAFFIC…I DONT SEE ANYBODY IN THE WEST OR CENTRAL VALLEY DRIVING THAT FAR FOR THAT TEAM. EVEN IF THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC, ITS A 45-50 MIN DRIVE. THE YOTES ARE KILLING THEMSELVES MOVING WAY UP THERE
There is a 15 year old defenseman in Nova Scotia who is 7 foot tall and weighs 285 lbs! His mom did a Gofundme so he could get custom made skates. 😮
good thing phoenix is not scottsdale
The Coyotes will continue to be screwed over by bureaucracy and partisan BS.
The clown circus known as the coyotes continues.
Hey let's build a mega project in the middle of the desert with no utilities .. no services like water, sewage, fire, police and expect surrounding cities that we don't pay taxes to to cover our assets.
I wonder what color the new jerseys will be after they move to Salt Lake City. I'm going to miss the clown show.
How is Jamie benn not a star if the week he has a goal in every game for the past 10 games and I don’t know how many assists.
Thank you for more info about Coyotes future !
So this district is another one of those arenas in the middle of nowhere? We know how successful they are
Sergachev skating already is a miracle after how it looked, so that was kind of the vibe of the report
Why is this just coming
Up now , it's a dessert their has been this situation forever, but after years they bring up water problems now ,just get this done this has gone on way to long already
Friedman and THG should do a meet up, but not THG's type street hockey meetup.
Infastructure was included in the bid. The land literally had nothing on it. Empty desert. The land dept. When approving the auction would have to have seen the plans to build up this area. This seems like a nothing burger and a mayor upset that something new is moving next door. If youve been to Scottsdale, it is beautiful but dated and old in alot of areas.
The underground water(aquifer) in the American SW is in major trouble. Phoenix keeps sprawling a mile in every direction per year. Unsustainable
It's so over for the Coyotes
At this point, it would be easier to build the Coyotes new arena on the moon.
Utah Coyotes 2025
That's a very practical concern from the Mayor. Talking from Ottawa experience, the Kanata arena was outside of the City's 10 year development plan, which is reflected in the state of infrastructure. It feels mismatched to the rest of Ottawa, and that's because it is. And we don't even remotely have the drought concerns!
Good thing he’s the mayor of Scottsdale and not phoenix. He can’t do anything but whine
If Scottsdale had a real issue with water they wouldn’t have built an Aquarium. This is just politics. Someone got in his pocket.
Sergachev😢
Thank you Shannon for stating facts unlike other channels
It will be a green stadium lol
Seattle.
Move the team to Utah.
how many strikes does the Phoenix area require from the NHL and the league ? the NHL should simply move on from the Phoenix area.
Matthew Savoie and Gavin McKenna(Bedards cousin)
