Really have no idea if this means anything or not. On one hand, that’s a pretty diplomatic answer that makes me think he doesn’t have real interest in returning. Although, I really don’t think he’d flat out say he wants to come back if he did.

Wouldn’t blame him if he went elsewhere, but I hope we do what we can to keep him here.

Sad part is, this team isn’t where they are now without him. He’s 4th on the team in goals and has played 30 less games. Concerning to think about tbh.

“Thankful for his time in Detroit” is literally what all the athletes tweet out when they get traded. Thanks a lot Lalonde for losing Kane. You douche minion leader

I hope he stays, sounds like armchair GMs are almost certain he’ll go though

I really hope he comes back. He’s been so fun to watch. Just think if we had him for a whole season!

  6. I don’t think he’ll be back. He thought the Debrincat connection would be magic like it used to be, and it hasn’t been. That was the only real reason to stay. He could go to a stronger team if he’s just going to play by himself.

Y’all can thank that bald moron for this. Guy should have been fired a month ago

  8. Imagine how the standings would look if Kane wasn’t on the roster…. scary, its possible even a worse record than last year which would mean zero positive growth for the team.

  9. That’s a nice way of saying its been fun but goodbye and thanks for the memories. He’s off to another team now that he has proven his hip is okay so he can have a shot at another cup. But how do you say no to Steve Yzerman?

Weird. I recall a few days ago Bultman seemed to suggest his confidence in Kane returning, albeit not to a level that was stated with strong conviction.

That sucks. It was awesome watching him. The team will definitely regress without him. But to be fair, it makes no sense to re sign here if he’s wanting another chance at a cup.

Everyone blaming the coach acting like we don’t have 1 top pair defensemen, 4 bottom pair defensemen, and a 7th defensemen. (not counting Edvin). And a streaky but not someone who’s a #1 goalie. Yes he’s to blame for a good amount but come on this roster isn’t crazy good.

Even if he doesn’t return it was surreal seeing him play for Detroit. Been a Kane fan since 2010.

The optimism in me wants to say he’ll return for the travel, and the fact that he picked us.

Get in the playoffs and do some damage. Win these fucking games!

On one hand, he originally wanted to sign a 3y deal but settled for a 1 year for fear of his hip surgery. On the other hand, if I was Patrick Kane and only had a couple years left I would be outta here with the way this team has collapsed. If I am Yzerman i am paying whatever he wants plus some and hope he says yes

  16. Vets who are up for free agency say these types of things to command the best deals.

He showed how good he still is. If he wants to go somewhere else ya can’t even be mad. It’s been cool to watch him play here, I really hope he stays, but wouldn’t be surprised the other way.

He’s gone. I wish it wasn’t the case but there’s no shot in hell he comes back. I wish it wasn’t the case but it’s the reality we live in.
