Well the news sucks. Oilers fan up in Edmonton but I’ve always liked the Coyotes all the way back when I was in grade 6 (they were my team for quite a while as soon as they moved). Pretty sure the kachina jersey was the main reason at the time I always thought the white stripe area looked like a row of skulls.
I remember once my dad got tickets to an oilers game in the press box of his choice. I chose the coyotes. They wouldn’t let teenage me wear this kachina up there “we try to keep it unbiased”, even tried to take me into the oilers locker room after the game but I wanted to see the coyotes instead. They lost, weren’t happy but was still an experience I’ll always remember.

Kachina on the left I got for Christmas in 96 from my snowbirding grandparents.
28 years later (not even two months ago) I went to a game at mullet with my snowbirding dad and we got matching 3rds.
The news sucks but I wanted to share this book ending photo. Hopefully the wait for the NHL to return to Arizona won’t take long, and there’s new ownership that will support the team from the get go.
