Should be suspended. Was watching a man get his jugular sliced open and bleeding out on the ice not enough? There is absolutely no reason your skates should leave the ice like that just fall to the ground. Puck was cleared anyway. Charge this man and change the narrative. I'm not even a rangers fan and I'm pissed
So I’m just going off what I saw it doesn’t look like an accident he’s got 1 hand on the ice and 1 leg on the ice all he’s gotta do is put his other leg back down on the ice. Instead he swings it up behind himself very awkwardly. I’m not saying it was 100% intentional but it definitely looks very suspect. I’d like to see a suspension just for how dangerous the play could have been. If any precedent needs to be set it needs to be set that skates stay on the ice at all times before someone else dies “accidentally on purpose”
Hathaway was definitely looking to crash into quick if the d man bumped him at all. When that plan didn't work, he decides to throw his skate up into the air to try to draw something. What a scumbag, especially after what happened to that player in Europe

Reminds me of the Adam Johnson incident, he didn't get away as lucky. RIP.
Удар скорпиона!
Hathaway is a joke… keep your skates on the ice kid sheeesh
Typical Hathaway style. Too much time playing with Wilson
I see a lot of tin foil hats here need adjustment.
Looks intentional to me

The Canes Russian goalie was allowed to karate kick a player in the leg with no suspension. So guess its allowed now. smh
Last time i saw skates that high, a man died
You can see that he knee is bent and gives a little extra with it for sure. How scary, looked very similar to what they talked about, rest in peace AJ
Hathaway is such a pussy too, he knows what he did that's why he won't look back at Quick after he trips him. Gutless move.
0 fucking chance that was an accident……
Seemed very unnatural
OBVIOUSLY INTENTIONAL!
This should be 5 games minimum. This was intentional and the league can't set the precedent that attempting some gutless move like this is OK.
Hathaway is a straight up pinecone for this move. he's gonna kill someone like that.
That was ridiculous
okay flyers fans what’s the defense here?
so either hathaway is that retarded or that was basically attempted murder lol.

literally could have just fallen down then got up, no need for round house
The nhl had a chance to make an example of something like that he’s also in the crease but whatever blah blah Bedard blah blah #draft kings
I swear we just learned on why the skates should not be coming up above your wasit? Right?
An awful way to flop with the skate up. smh
Hathaway should go for MMA. Not ice hockey.. Idiot.
Crazy how protected the goalies are. No tripping pen 😂😂😂😂 I hate the flyers but come one
Yeeeesh this is horrifying, and the disrespect to do it on anyone let alone a legend of the game
