Unless they trade him for Zegras. It's tough but you have to give to get. Lane is a highlight reel. He is also skinny as a rake playing a position that requires physical strength. I am nervous
I can't see them pairing him with Matheson, both being LD.
I can see them paring him with Savard on the 2nd pairing, and Kovacevic to the 1st pairing, or just put Kovacevic with him
I assume he will get both Detroit games. Like you said, play him in his home state first, and then Bell Center debut.
Now…..this will be an unpopular opinion I am sure, but I think he needs to play in Laval next season, at least for part of it. Unless he plays these games lights out, and is the 2nd or 3rd best D on the ice at the end of training camp, I just don't see him making the team next season right at the beginning of the season. Put him in Laval, put Reinbacher on his right side, and let that pairing run the AHL until the trade deadline (or longer depending on where the Habs are at that point). I don't see where the Habs fit him into the line up next year long term, without some trades. And being LD, who would they trade? LD right now is pretty much Matheson, Xhekaj, Struble, Harris (can play both sides), who out of Matheson, Xhekaj or Struble do you sit?
I figure one or more of Barron, Harris, Kovacevic will get traded over the summer, but that is more to make room for Mailloux. Savard probably dealt at the trade deadline, possibly to make room for Reinbacher. Matheson would be in his last year of contract the following season. Struble and Hutson play a revolving door on LD?
The days of defensemen banging it off the glass is long over. Habs future team is built to score (finally). Having more D with vision to make that first pass or carry it will mean sucsess.
This kid is not an NHL calibre d man. He should ay forward. Big strong mean defence wins Championships and thats what Montreal should focus on…not regular season "entertainment". The Leafs are a good example that proves that.

Cant wait to see him against Detroit, he should play both games, hopefully.

The People's Youtuber Drew Dekes
I'd like to see Hutson with Savard, pairing him with Matheson would be a nightmare for our goalies 😂
Can't wait to smell what The Lane is cooking
I wonder what number Slaf will wear moving forward.
Our buddy Hockey Junkie calls him Frodo.
And1 Hutson
Fire me up baby 🔥🔥
I’m guessing he gets three points in these two games against
Detroit. Can’t wait to watch him and how his game translates to the big club.

Now we'll see how the MSL magic works on Lane. I'm as excited as you are Drew!!
I'm really looking forward to Mailloux joining the team, been waiting since his draft, it was a steal.
