No one thinks about the fact that he’s been in IR 2 years in a row, and he’s not gonna want to come out next year without an extension. And the Panthers are pretty much on target at being nervous about wanting to give an injury ridden QB an extension! Not to mention it’s a brand new offensive scheme
This is the same JG that wanted Jake delhome to get a new contract after throwing 6 picks in a playoff game. Emotions aside we have a history of drafting players, building them up then letting them go on. Peppers, TD, Steve, Josh etc. Cam is was only recently injury prone because WE failed HIM. When you have a franchise QB, a real one. You don't cast him out in his prime, while you already getting a deal on him. Cam has won games and titles with NOTHING! And when we finally get an offense JG's advice is to let him walk and spend the next umteenth years trying to find a franchise QB?? All I'm saying is give him a chance to play with a real offense and a real coordinator. I believe in change with purpose that is planned methodically. Many organizations change things because it’s just the trend. If Cam leaves so be it. Thank you for service but they better have a damn good plan at starter and back up than the BS currently on the roster. What happens when he eventually gets old or if he gets reinjured? I'm sure he will still have the hearts of Carolina fans (including myself) but change is inevitable. The business of it all. I love Cam too. Loved him in college as well. Was proud to be a Panther fan when we drafted him. Look at it like this. I owned a dog. I loved that dog. I eventually had to put him to sleep. He got old and he wasn't able to have a quality of life anymore. As much as It hurt I knew it had to be done. Now I have another dog. And I never thought I would replace him. I never made. I like Cam Newton. He's the best and toughest quarterback in Carolina Panthers history. Nothing meant to last. He's not Tom Brady nor he's Dree Brees still in their's uper 40s playing football. Cam Newton doesn't have quarterback years. He has running back years, which means he not going to be the same Cam in 2015 no more in his early 30s. We have to start in fresh by trading Cam and we might get some good results for that.

Bigg Katt – I've owned my criticism, and have never called you a hater, but getting rid of Cam Newton would not be smart. I haven't spoken out against people who say make a change; I've just asked how is that a better, smarter move than keeping Cam?
I agree with moving on from MANY players on the roster, even some with fairly reasonable production, but Cam ain't one of em.
You yourself have a video touting how well a player like Mekhi Bechton would be for us, but many continually miss the fact that we've never had a Mekhi Bechton for Cam. Even Jordan Gross, historically the best of all our lineman, had a relatively short prime for a tackle AND NONE of those prime years were spent with Cam. We still haven't ONE TIME put him in a scenario to succeed, so the fact that he's put together an impressive resume speaks volumes of his skill and worth. We need to pony up and give Cam a real team. All the other talk is filler.

Since its not about thinking with your heart but your head. Don’t trade him, release him. Do him the honor of putting his career in his own hands. Everyone’s argument for getting rid of him is that he’s injury prone and doesn’t fit into the team’s future plans. Well if he’s so injury prone and beat up, then we should have zero reason to fear him. So let him go on his own terms. Ill root for the Panthers year in and year out for the remainder of my days but as long as QB1 has something left to give the game of football, im tuning in and cheering for him no matter what jerseys on his back.

Let’s keep it 100, the Panthers organization has a history of doing their veterans dirty (Steve Smith, etc). They are quick to say they’re “moving on from such & such” but don’t have pieces in play to replace what was lost. Players always leave the team & do better elsewhere. I feel if they get rid of Cam, it would be beyond stupid. Cam is proven, Kyle is NOT the answer (never will be) and risking a franchise player for a draft pick that might flop is not logical to me.
I don't disagree that it could be mutually beneficial for both parties to part ways however I believe this year was a blessing in disguise for Cam to rest and actually get healthy. I think he can be a more efficient passer with a year for his shoulder to complete heal.
