Late 90s, you have many options from players that had won 2 Cups, and you by the jersey of an “old guy lookin for a cup” and trade deadline rental. Oh, and he’s a Toronto Maple Leaf “legend”.
Now, I don’t know when you got this jersey, if you paid money for it, or anything else. Maybe you own a sweater for every player who ever suited up for the Wings. But the existence of the Wendel Clark one perplexes me.

Todd Bertuzzi #44, yeah I know it was a choice given the history but his time in Detroit endeared me to him 🤣. Yes I thought about changing the number to 59 and just rolling with the nephew but hey kinda glad I didn’t too much work in for him to not be apart of the long term.

I own a Brendan Smith and a Jakub Kindl jersey… and almost bought a Tomas Jurco. I am not a smart man when it comes to buying jerseys of prospects/rookies lol.

Wendel Clark. He wore number 17 in his career. He played for Tampa in 98-99 and the Wings picked him up for some grit at the deadline to try and three-peat BUT Doug Brown wore 17 so Clark flipped the number and played all of 12 games in the season and 10 in the playoffs before Detroit lost in 6 to Colorado. averaged a point every other game for Detroit.
The next season he signed in Toronto.
I Have a Hatcher Jersey….. too bad he did fuck all in his….. It’s also autographed,and to make it real interesting is was signed in Fraser,MI after a game he played with the long defunct Motor City Mechanics.

My parents own a Weiss jersey.
A little backstory on it. We were at the game in Charlotte where Weiss scored the OT winner. My parents (ever the optimists) thought that that goal would get his Red Wings career back on track. It didn’t and now they own a Weiss jersey and like to claim it is the only one in the wild. Lol
