GAME RECAP: Penguins vs. Predators (04.15.24) | Crosby Extends Point Streak To 5 Games

The Nashville Predators visited Pittsburgh to take on the Penguins Monday night. Pittsburgh came out firing on all cylinders. The Penguins had 20 shots on net in the 1st period. Sidney Crosby started the scoring for the Penguins. After a goal that was disallowed from Michael Bunting, Bryan Rust Passed Bunting the puck from behind the net. Still, on the power play, Bunting shot the puck on the net. It trickled through the Nashville goalie but not over the line. Laying loose in the blue paint, Crosby leaped from behind the net on the far side to wack it in. Shortly after Erik Karlsson fired a slap shot from the blue line to give the Penguins a 2-0 lead. The Penguins had a second disallowed goal by Kris Letang later in the 1st. Gustav Nyquist put Nashville on the board early in the 2nd. But minutes later Lars Eller pulled two defenders to him in the offensive zone and was still able to dish the puck to Reilly Smith in the high slot. Smith picked his head up and scored the Penguin’s third goal. Before the period was over, Filip Forsberg brought the Predators within one. Emil Bemstrom scored early in the 3rd to seal the deal for the Penguins with a final score of 4-2.

  1. Both interference calls were disgraceful. I normally never complain about the refs, but tonight was absurd.

  2. Breaks my heart a little that EK is just producing (offensively—I’m too sensitive to talk about his defense in the recent past)… didn’t see enough of that firepower throughout the season IMO

  3. I just wish we had played like we have for the last three weeks or so in the first month of the season. Any of those dumb blown leads or meltdowns against the likes of Anaheim or Calgary not happening would have kept us in a playoff spot right now.

  4. Aaaaa guys im so proud!!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾And a Word to the referee this game:😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬😵‍💫😵‍💫🤢🤢🤢

  5. Good win but I honestly don’t see either the Caps or Red Wings lose tomorrow night but I could be wrong

  6. Gee, it's a wonder Nashville did not protest every goal
scored by the Pens. Pens should lead the league in
protest goals lost more than won.

  7. The pens didn't score any goals. I compared all the goals and the pens were guilty of the same 'goal tender interference' on every goal. Predators won 2-0

  8. This might be one of my all-time favorite Sid goals when all is said and done. 36 years old and he’s out there laying out for loose pucks.
