Slaf gets 50 points, Hutson and Mailloux get points in their debuts, Newhook sets his new career high even with missed time to injury, Caufield goes into the offseason with a nice late-season hot streak… these last few games have been a fantastic end to a fun season. Something poetic about ending with back-to-back loser points too!
Great year, really enjoyed myself in almost every game. Can’t wait for October!
It’s been another awesome year watching, and talking hockey with all of you fine folks!
Lots of ups and downs this year, but a *lot* of positives for a *very* young team. I can’t list them all here.
From the continued 200-foot development of Suzuki, all-around offensive rounding from Caufield ^(his goals will come, don’t worry), as well as the emergence, rapid development, and dominance of our Slovakian Stallion, all filling out an outright dangerous top-line that will no doubt be one of the best lines in the NHL in short order, and for the long-term.
We led the NHL in one-goal games this year (42? 43?), It’s not hard to imagine that another offseason of training for our top-line, as well as the return of Dach, possible full-time additions of Hutson, Mailloux and/or Reinbacher, possible addition of our 1st round pick this year, and continued development and chemistry of the rest of the lineup, will see us be a very scary team very shortly.
I don’t see a world where we aren’t challenging for a playoff spot next year (famous last words), barring *injuries* ^(^(fuck injuries))
We have a crazy deep D-pool that should encourage lots of competition through development camp + training camp, some crazy promising goalie prospects, as well as two first rounders this draft!
I’ll still be here everyday, of course, but we’ll see all you glorious bastards at the draft lottery!
I hope you’ll all join me in saying;
FUCK THE LEAFS!
FUCK THE BRUINS!
FUCK THE LIGHTNING!
FUCK THE WINGS!
FUCK INJURIES!
FUCK THE REFS!
and finally
GO HABS GOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Edit: FUCK MATTHEWS!
FUCK KREIDER!
FUCK KUCHEROV!
FUCK MARCHAND!
Last PGT and what a good one.
Suzuki, Caufield and Slakovsky are magic
Slafkovsky ending with 50 points… I have absolutely no words.
Newhook and Roy were showing great potential.
*Hutson greatness will only be limited by the qualities of his teammates, he is insane. He has, in his first two games, shown that his dekes can give him the time to create plays like he was in the NCAA.*
The future is bright.
Have a good summer guys! GO HABS GO!
lol Hutson and Slaf’s heads can’t fit into the camera frame together
It’s been a wonderful season, friends! Love to see Slaf get to 50 pts and 20g, first line did its thing and established itself as a true top line in this league, Hutson is the truth, and we’re guaranteed to have the opportunity to pick up a forward with top-6 potential in the draft. The future is absolutely very bright!
I’ve been solidly and proudly on team tank over the past few seasons, but I’m so excited for next year. May this year be my last year being happy with losses. Onwards to the draft!
Can the 2024-25 season start already?
Awesome debut for Mailloux. Him and Hutson both getting on in overtime is huge!
20 + 30 for Slaf, I couldn’t be happier. It was a good season cheering alongside you guys.
50 points for slaf!!!! LETS GOOOO!
Who would’ve seen that coming after his start to the season?!
Wings didn’t feel like hitting the Griddy? See you on the golf course.
Come on Arizona, give us a happy ending.
I’m an avid tankologist, and even I was jumping up and down when Slaf got his 20th off a trademark Lane Hutson blueline play.
Looking forward to watching them play for years to come.
Wake me up when september ends
Habs hockey is over ):
Hutson, the first line, healthy Dach, Guhle and Xhekaj. Can’t wait for next year!
So we need Arizona to pickup a point tmr right?
We making the playoffs next year
The future is looking very bright and boney. I’ll see you all next year (I’ll be posting every day)
Seeing the redwings celebrate every goal like crazy, and then not even make it after winning is hilarious
Game should have been over when #57 didn’t skate for that icing with 3 seconds left. But whatever, Slaf got 20, Mailloux and Hutson got assists, I’m happy.
All in all great season developmentally for our core, Suzuki hitting another level, Cole rounding out his game wonderfully and Slaf hitting 20 goals and 50 points is amazing. That play by Lane on the tying goal was a thing of beauty and is a sign of things to come, the guy has superstar written all over him. However very disappointed with our ability to hold leads in the third, getting into maple leafs territory with that bs!
Why do I feel the Habs ended that game happier than the Red Wings did lmao
Anyone else mad that we’re gonna get the Capitals in the playoffs instead of the Red Wings? I wanted Detroit to beat their playoff drought just to make them less desperate next year, and they’re much more fun to watch than Washington.
*BAD*
– Primeau didn’t have a good game. He’s been good since Allen left so it’s alright. Going forward I’d like to see him be consistently good rather than occasionally great. Consistency.
– I mean obviously you have to keep the leads. It’s been an issue all year but then again it’s obvious. A team near the bottom will have that issue.
– I want Habs to be in the playoffs. I miss that stuff.
– Shot selection.
– Power play. Seems the 4 on 3 in particular has been bad for years I don’t have a stat for that but seems that way.
*GOOD*
– Slaf hits 20. Don’t really need to elaborate on the success he has had this year. An absolute massive w for the Habs having him progress throughout the year. Get him in fantasy next year these stats are going to go up.
– Hutson to me looks excellent. There were people out there that went all well that game won’t translate to the show… whatever can have that opinion and Hab fans do over rate prospects but really what I like is his skills are not really something you can teach. The vision combined with the passing screams a player who is going to have a huge ceiling. I may add the Norris candidates are not exactly your 6’5 David Savard shot blockers.
– Newhook if he gets some better linemates might have bigger potential than we give him credit for. At the very least, he def fits that middle six.
– Caufield absolute heater to end the year.
– Mailloux good debut. Got an apple to I believe.
It was my first full year as a Canadiens fan, and I’m so excited for the future of this team. I love this team, I love the players, I love the fans. You’re all incredible. Allez Montréal! See you all next season <3
Next up May 6th, when we win the lottery and start watching Cellebrini highlights
Welp, Detroit made these last two games fun
Remember when TSN or Sportsnet projected Slaf to score 55 pts this year? Not bad guess.
It’s only two games, but if that’s the real Lane Hutson … how do you send him to Laval next year? No question he’s better than Barron and Harris already.
Yeah he’s got a lot to learn but so did Slaf
Next season Joshua Roy is still technically a rookie. Full season with talented linemates = Calder candidate.
On se revoit au repêchage les chums!
