I give credit where credit is due. He is saying all of the right things at this stage of the game.

  1. He's talking out his ass, Short of injury Patrick is making the team he's the 2nd overall pick unless he gets hurt he's a Flyer

  2. Do you think we can do it again and how do you think Elliot will help with that and what do you think proverove and koneckey will do this year

  3. It is a good thing to not put too much pressure on any rookie. No rookie should feel the pressure to become legendary on day 1. Just be the best they can be and see how it goes.

Rookies should battle for spots and it shouldn't feel presumed that a spot is being left open for them. If they aren't ready they shouldn't be forced onto the team. Of course you should make it possible for guys to win a spot. Just make the proper move depending on what is right for the player and the team.

  4. I disagree with that 10 game win streak. A lot of us watching saw it as not quite a fluke, but definitely not sustainable, especially near the end of it. There was never a game in that streak that was decisive or a game that you could say "Damn, this team is good.". Obviously it wasn't ALL luck but if you look at the boxscores, you could tell it was somewhat of an anomaly. Outshot some games, almost choking in the 3rd (against freakin' Colorado) or just getting straight up outplayed (Boston) Don't get me wrong, you don't win 10 in a row with just puck luck and it was DAMN fun to watch as a Flyer's fan but deep down there was a feeling of "This team isn't as good as it is playing".

  5. I think he'll be fine as long as he's healthy. You really can't say words to encourage someone to stay healthy though.

  6. i agree with everything as you said, im excited for nolan patrick and my flyers. btw what jersey is that and whered you get it??

  7. I especially think because Patrick has had so many injuries I think it's best if he goes back to juniors and has a healthy year down there.

  8. I dont know why but i dont feal that he will be that great….. im scared that he become a kind of benois pouliot….

  9. Flyers fan…I think you have a pretty take on it. I am overall a fan of Hextall…the Schenn trade recently not so much at all.

  10. Not sure why anyone would even be surprised by that statement tbh, of course he's gonna have to prove and earn his worth and improve our team. I love Hextall beyond belief and I really just hope the Flyers continue their progress in the next couple years

  11. My dad went golfing with Ron Hextall, he's from the same town as him and he told me he was a very relaxed polite guy, just got competitive and aggressive when he was in net 😂

  12. As a Sabres fan. I hate the Flyers. So I would love if they were 9th every year. That aside; I think Hextall is a smart GM and he would be wise to send Patrick back to WHL for 1 more year. Brandon was also his old junior team .so it would help the Wheat Kings future to trade him at the deadline . Worked for Draisitl.

  13. really like what Hextall is doing with the Prospects he is letting them take their time tell they are ready and not rushing them so far . think it's going to take 2 to 3 more seasons to see where the team is with the Prospects and how many in the system right now will be on the NHL roster by then

  14. Fans by their nature are not, by and large, objective about "their" team. I tend to go in the direction of being critical of the Flyers…even though I do root for them. Their history is one of throwing money to cover their mistakes (pre cap era) and dealing away youth for the proverbial quick fix….and that includes paying a high price for the over thirty "name player"….Adam Oates comes to mind. I did not think that Hextall was a top goalie when he played…he had a penchant for giving up bad goals at the worst time…Claude Lemieux comes to mind….and he had bad temper that frequently got the best of him. I remember Hextall going after Chelios with the Flyers down a goal with 2 minutes left in a playoff game. As a GM (and it took my a while to warm up to him), he seems to be doing a good job of stockpiling picks and drafting, but, as you said, the results are not there yet. I would have liked him to go after DeBrincat in the 2016 draft….he went 39 to Chicago and Hextall had picks 48 and 52 (I believe). DeBrincat was touted as an high-skill offensive player….which the Flyers could really use. And Tolvanen  was available this year, and, instead, Hextall took Morgan Frost who is projected as a 3rd line center. I do think that Hextall has missed key opportunities to get more offense in the draft. Some of the signings of veteran, depth players had me scratching my head, but, hopefully, that is behind him with  more youthful options seemingly available. So, in my mind, the jury is still out on Hextall as a GM. I would not put him at the list of top GMs at this time.

  15. I think Hextall is a great GM just by being able to get rid of over bloated contracts & busts brought in by crappy Paul Holmgren. Philly fans just need to give Hextall a little time rebuilding the team.

  16. The flyers are gonna suprise a lot of people this year, I don't like our goal tending this year I'm gonna miss mason a lot, but I think playoffs this year Stanley cup within the next 2 years, hexy is doing it right, and it's been a long process but Philly fans will stick with it and see the benefits of everything hexy has been doing

  17. Having watched the entire Flyers camp thus far I can say this, Philly looks lethal. Morin is ready, Patrick looks as advertised, Weal looks great. The 2017-2018 season looks to be the start of the Flyers ascent to powerhouse

  18. I've been a die hard flyers fan for over 30 years, and yes, its frustrating not seeing a true cup contender in a handful of years, but what hextall is doing will make the flyers a contender in about 2 to 3 more years and once they are legitimate cup contenders, they will be for quite a few years

  19. Flyers have had goaltending issues since Hextall retired. I agree abt GMs but I'm surprised that a great goalie didn't make it as Toronto GM.
