You feel for those fans because we all know that it could have very easily been our team that got up and left. The NHL doesn’t care how poorly a team is run or why a team can’t attract fans, all they see is a bad situation and will quickly do anything to remedy the situation. I consider us very lucky that for 20+ years we struggled with so much and here we are today a much healthier franchise with a fanbase that has finally come back to embrace this team with an owner whom, I would say, is quite possibly the best sports owner in South Florida right now.
I do hope they get another chance with an owner and situation that allows them a long term chance to be successful, but never forget that it could have easily been our team…
