If Podkolzin only scores 10 goals next year, but continues to play well defensively, then he will be worth more than the $1 million he's being paid.
A billionaire with a sense of self awareness?!
coyotes logo on the board for the last time
until the next time
Utah yeti is my pick
Now let us never mention Arizona again
i hope they call the Utah team the Utah Sentinels. it sounds nice and it's a subtle way to reference the mountains (standing sentinel over the state/SLC) while not risking stepping on the Avs' toes a bit
Who knew Carter was still around… And I'm a flyers fan lol
Why return?
Executives live on pride and praise. They don’t understand apologies.
Why haven’t you reported on Filip Chytil returning to practice or did I miss it?
"The Franchise formerly known as the Coyotes"
It really sunk in last night watching the final game. I've never experienced this much pain before as a hockey fan.
As a Blues fan I do not want Bannister to return. We need a strong young coach that actually moves the needle. This team had bottom 5 analytics under Bannister as well.
It was never the Coyotes fans fault or the players fault. It was a never-ending procession of crap owners looking to scam everyone & everything. Now they have 5 years to build an arena near Talking Stick right off the 101 like they should have all along
Let me get this straight. Arizona makes money in a 5000 seat building. And yet owners want taxpayers to build state of the art palaces. Ahhh, now I understand.
Utah vs Arizona in 2030 will be must watch tv
good one mate
Do the Jet now own the rights to the old franchise?
Just remove the Great One from these conversations. There is no equal to a god. He's in another league.
Just say Lemieux, Orr, McDavid and now Kucherov.
A billionaire dodging the consequences of his actions? Say it ain't so!
This feels slightly akin to when Quebec moved to Colorado. Look for them to make the playoffs as soon as next season.
Imagine the fury if Gauthier scored a hat trick tonight. So many people cheering for this kid's downfall just because he had a surprise (to us) trade request.
Good luck to Gauthier. I hope we get a real story on what really happened with Philly. That whole thing was still SO WEIRD refusing to talk to team leadership who flew to Europe to see him, etc. Hope Drysdale comes back 100% and can stay healthy. Not much the Flyers were able to do in that situation. And hope the Flyers get a shot at another player with Gauthier's upside and scoring ability. Philly couldn't hit the net if it had been 12×12 this year. They need some people who can score.
So does that mean the yotes jets history stays in az? And utah gets a new history?
I'm just saying, in regards to the new Utah name, there is a connection in the mythology of coyotes transforming into skinwalkers 😅
Would be a bad @$$ name 😁
Still going for the Utah Aliens
A magnet suggestion, an outline of the state of Utah with the NHL logo on it.
As a pens fan i havw had mixed feelings for jeff carter but when i look back its been a good career. Congrats on his retirement and the beginning of his next chapter of life. He had a decent final year for the pens. Good luck 77
I wonder if McKinnon will have a 7 point night tonight? That would kinda silly to see.
Utah’s team not having a name is just a completely awful idea
There’s been 11,000 season tickets deposits pit down so far
“a bunch of moves can be bad for a team if they’re close” as a devils fan i unfortunately know what u mean😞
I lived in Minnesota when the North Stars left and it was ugly. I will NEVER support the Dallas Stars.
How much of the move was due to local politics with failed votes for the yotes arena? I put alot on the owner but it seemed like they did everything to subvert the yotes or am i wrong on that?
I would name the team salt Lake golden eagles as person from the province of Quebec i hope Arizona gets a NHL expansion team and new arena as soon as possible
Listening to Doug Armstrong’s presser today, it didn’t sound like the Blues are making any drastic changes. Any improvement is going to come from the inside.
Utah is getting a team on the rise… how about the Utah Runaways…
In regards to continuing to root for the team, those are my players, my guys. I’m gonna root for them. I’m not rooting for SLC or the new ownership, I’m rooting for the guys who have to go through all of this and we had to deal with everything going on these last few years. Maybe my perspective is different because I also recently moved out of Az so I still have MHL hockey readily available, but I don’t know how any coyotes fan could not root for the guys
Shannon it sounds like what ever name they may have in mind maybe needs to get Legal approve of like when the NFL Washington changed to Commanders they gone with that name because of reports they didnt want to pay for the rights to use a already used name
It would be really funny if Utah goes on the ultimate Cinderella run and wins the Cup without a team name
so wait the nhl paid 1 billion for what a bunch of contracts? man they are bending over backwards for the worst owner in the nhl….
Delta Center has about a 20,000 capacity. There will be a new stadium built but it's debated on whether it'll be for the Jazz or for the Hockey team. The Winter Olympics are being hosted in 2034. The economy is very good here. One of the fastest growing cities in terms of population growth in the USA. 5,000 season tickets have already been sold which is more than where the Coyotes were playing in total capacity to begin with. MLB is even talking about moving the A's here so an MLB stadium is also in talks as well. It's a Win/win for the NHL and Utah fans. It's an L for the Coyotes fans. Hopefully they will get their stadium and they will return to Phoenix. I'm excited to be able to watch some of my favorite teams play in my Home City.
It’s so sad that Utah’s jerseys will only ever be made by fanatics 🤢
I wonder for real how many former Winnipeg Jets fans followed to support the team when they became the Coyotes, that still continued after they got a new Winnipeg Jets team after the Atlanta Thrashers moved and was reborn as the new Jets (?). And more, how many of these fans will then follow the Jets-to-Coyotes-to-Utah?
I know it sounds screwey, but still makes me wonder (?)
And will Utah keep the Coyotes name or will they create a new identity – Surely it can't be Utah Hockey Team? That sounds just as stupid as Washington Football Team in NFL.
