  1. I watch you guys every day from Karachi, Pakistan. I have been a hug Habs fan for the past 50 years. I remember those great teams of the 70's — untouchable. Your positive takes are wonderful but no one on media is talking about last year's draft. I love D. R. , but we had a chance to get any of the studs from Boston College (Smith was gone) but we had a chance at Leonard, Guthier, Perrault. Any of these guys are better than anyone in our system (Beck, Mesar, Farrell, Roy, Kidney, Gignac). If we landed Lindstrom or Iginla we would be talking playoffs next year. They were bang on with Slaf but we are stacked on D. We can only have 6. Matheson, Guhle, the Sherriff, Hutson (because of the hype) untouchable. The rest would not make any other team (Harris, Barron, Struble, Engstrom). They need to unload 4 or 5 of them in the next two years before they get an injury or lose their mojo. There is no forward in Laval over 6 feet except Florian. Look at the past Stanley Cup winners. They were big, they were fast and they were deep on four lines. We don't have that. Laval was supposed to be a great team this year … tough for them to even make the playoffs (this weekend will tell).
Can you imagine a roster with one of those BC players mentioned above, Celabrini, Davidov, Iginla or Lindstom? The rebuild is over and those 16 overtime losses could easily be wins. Still would not get into the playoffs … but closer.
Hughes and Gorton are brilliant minds and have accumulated assets … it's time to put these blue chips in and get some scoring.

By the way, the Primeau we saw against Detroit in the last game was who he is … Fowler will be here in two years and jump Monty (love the guy) who should not be given an extension under any circumstances.

In summary… people will look back on the 2023 draft and say, we should have landed a forward. That forward would have been a top six in three years. Now we are one year behind. I have a feeling Hughes will make a splash at the draft … in Kent I trust.

  2. Jesse, you should raise your camera 3-4 inches so we don’t see your tonsils, Josh has improved his lighting so he isn’t white!Keep up the good work!

  3. I say there is a chance MTL trades down a few spots and takes Baby IGGY If Demidov and Lindstrom are gone. We don't need another Dman left or right side, offensive or not.
For example, if Habs pick 5-6, they could trade with a team around 8-9 wanting a Dman, to get an addition second rounder or a good young forward prospect just to switch positions.

  4. What would Carolina want for Necas who needs a new contract and the Hurricanes can't afford him. 23 goals and 29 assists player would fit right into the Habs line up next season.

  5. I watch you guys from Phuket, Thailand. Daily watch also from here. We are going to make the playoffs next season. This team's potential is getting scary with all the prospects in the pipeline. Team management is innovative, and many clubs are amazed by how Habs are doing this reconstruction. The future looks great for our Habs and this channel 🙂

  6. I played 10 Tankathon; 1 time 1st, 4 times 5th, 4 times 6th, 1 time 7th. So about 50% chances they pick after 5

  7. Draft the best availlable player regardless of position .we lived with picking for need and shafted with kk over tkatchuk if they do something similar ima lose it more than ive already lost it

  8. It all depends on what Hughes will do on the trade market, and which LD he uses to acquire a top 6 forward. If Guhle is the sacrificed lamb, then Dickinson becomes an interesting option 🤷

  9. They better not draft a D with their top pick. That is just stupid. Take Catton or Iginla if Lindstrom is gone.

  10. 100% with Jesse on that Dickinson bit. There's also Adam Engström coming up, and he's been instrumental in creating the 2 biggest upsets in the SHL playoffs this season, the SHL is a much much tougher league on younger players than the OHL, in fact it's the one top european league that progressed the most over the past 5 years it's almost up there with the skill level of the NL now but with more physicality, it's surpassed the decaying KHL (and remained over the rising Liiga). In these PO he managed to get 4 assists already. He might not be as impressive down the line than a Dickinson or a Levshunov (less likely) but maybe not by that much considering the growth he's had already playing at such a level contributing to elevate his team's chances.
He will most likely start with Laval first but he'll pretty soon be the very first name on the LD call-up list for us while any other D kid we would draft would require at least another year and a half of dev time if not more which does not mesh as well with our timeline.

  11. I would trade guhle at the draft and get a young player like zebras electrizing and game changer player or a other one and draft Sam Dickinson or a left defensemen at the draft , and I love guhle guy btw but if the team can be better right now !

  12. Assuming top 3 is unavailable, this makes for an interesting draft. Can’t look at it with today’s roster, changes hopefully will happen. If there are trades or package of players (potentially including Harris and/or Struble) for a young talented stud, I can see Habs draft either Dickinson or Parekh. We all focused on first line but there is some depth in the system at fwd. Emergence of Newhook, return of Dach, put either Roy or Armia on the wing and you have a second line. Third line needs work, not convinced Evans/Gally/Josh are the anwser – clearly not on the wings. As for a 4th line, that is never the issue. So depth on D is an asset they should leverage. As for forward in draft, and looking at Beck and Mesar in the system (if Habs think they are true C), I like Iginla for versatility and all around game. I dont think he is a reach as he is youngest and class and will develop just fine if only because of genes. Catton an option here? Maybe but not convinced based on needs. Great work guys, very entertaining channel!

  13. Trade a nice young D prospect along with a late first rounder and maybe a 2nd or 3rd to STL for Dalibor Dvorsky (last years 10th pick)!!

  14. One thing we all need to keep in mind when it comes to this draft: Kent Hughes and his team absolutely deserves the benefit of the doubt.

  15. I nominate Josh to run the lottery!!! LOL. Thanks for your coverage all season. Like you, I'm excited to see the draft and these Habs play next year.

  16. It might still be early but you guys should do a video projecting the 24-25 lineup and another one after the draft or when the offseason is over to compare and see the differences!

  17. owen Beck is 20!!! it’s not that impressive to be dominant in junior hockey at 20! at the same age, Slafkovsky made 50 pts in the NHL!!!
