Leafs goaltending was weak in this one. Samsonov has to pull up his socks big time if they're to have any chance at all.

The Leafs have four $11 Million forwards who are not even close to being playoff super stars.
Great effort. They just need to dominate by making more assertive plays to each other as well. There were a lot of uncontested lanes to the Bruins net where the forwards chose to shoot instead of driving to the net to challenge the goalie with dangles. Swayman has excellent vision so they gotta make him work by working the zone and then seizing those good looks
I wonder how Keefe schedules their practices and/or if they even have an open-floor discussion lol I mean, were they even aware that this was game 1 of a make-it-or-break it series? They are aware that it’s do or die for some of them right? What a joke guys lol
It's hard being a fan of the team that's the laughing stock of the league. But I don't blame the players, they can't help their talent level, although they did stop listening to the coach a long time ago (something the GM should have picked up on and fired Keefe before the new year, and we might not be in this pickle now). But nothing will change until Shanny and his f*cked-up Shaniplan is GONE!!! (what a waste of a decade, and the prime years of Matthew's career). GM's and coaches can't do $hit without his "okay" stamp of approval. And speaking of coaches… bye bye Keefe. He and Guy Boucher should have been gone LONG ago.
I was hoping I would see the leafs in a cup final at least once before I kicked the bucket, but with only 3 months left to live, this is the last team I'll ever see, and it's been pretty clear for most of the season that this isn't a cup winning team (but who knows if it could have been with the right coach – Man, how I would have loved to see Torts coach the leafs one day ) 🙁

Domi needs to control his emotions. Change the D lineup. Change the goalie. Continue to be physical in gane two. More quality shots as lots were straight at his chest.Put Marner back with Matthews. Tavares has to play harder he's making 11+ million per year. Maroon likes to run guys smaller so Reavo should fight him. Fourth line with Dewar and Reavo played great with there physical checking.
The Leafs organization should be EMBARRASSED. After years of this, this is how you come out for game 1 against the Bruins? And same excuses after the game? WOW!!!
