Canes vs Islanders, with an Islanders insider

Michael Leboff, Action Network HQ, who covers the NY Islanders on what we can anticipate from this team during the series.
What’s the level of NY Islanders anxiety going into this series with the Carolina Hurricanes? What might be the game plan for the Islanders to get the Canes off of their game plan? What do the Islanders need to do to be successful against the Canes, in Michael’s opinion? With the addition of this player for the Islanders, how much does Michael think this will help their series compared to without? Who are the guys who will carry the load offensively? What does Michael think about the Western Conference and potential upsets?

  1. I think that Carolina has to really mess up bad to lose this series, Isles fans talk about their depth being able to beat the canes, but the canes specifically added depth this year to counteract thst

  2. If the refs call penalties on sticks to the opposing players face this time, the Isles may have a chance

  3. Islanders need to play physical and stay out of the box first and foremost. Then they need to get their 3rd line with the Pelech and Pulock pairing out against the top line for the Canes to slow them down. If they do that, the top 6 forwards for the Isles should get chances and they can hang their hat on the goaltending advantage and ride that to a series win in 6 games.
