On the whole, Joel had a good season — certainly greatly improved from last year. Due to recency bias, some fans will complain about end of year but he was very effective for most of the season. Also clearly a smart player. I think he's right: while this year was far from perfect for the team, they do have much to be proud of. I appreciate the thoughtful answers he gives in pressers, not just today, being exit interview day. Good guy.
Before Torts arrived the consensus from Media was that Torts would love this kid yet it’s been a testy relationship. That said I think next year the Beezer plays a complete consistent year. Not sure what happened in the end but he was contributing in the first half. Still like his game.
Good season Joel! There is only so much you can do w out high end centers. Confused as to how this team expects more from you when you are played on the 4th line, or played on higher lines but w 3rd & 4th line players. Torts sets you up for failure, yet, you made the most of it. That is impressive. You will be at least a 30 goal scorer. If they trade you, it will be better for your career. Pretty sure Torts has it out for the skilled like able players. That is his pathetic insecurities, remember that. Thank you for being a leader & so welcoming to the younger players! Have an amazing summer!
