Hard to have a competent powerplay when your top player and bonafide 60 goal scorer can barely score at half his regular season pace during the playoffs.

Edit-If the Leafs recieved 0 AM34 PP goals in the regular season they would go from 23.95% to 16.45%, remove Nylander and you get 9.95%.

Suddenly the 9.1% PP is starting to make sense, the only thing is that only one of those players that made up 29/57 PP goals is in the lineup to criticize.

The PP’s bit pretty bad since March, but in terms of these playoffs it’s definitely not helping that our top PP producer hasn’t even played yet. Hopefully tomorrow, but hopefully it’s not another case of “too little, too late.”

During Keefe’s tenure, the Leafs have had a 24.06% PP during the regular season, while in the playoffs under Keefe’s tenure, it drops to 16.82% PP. So, a 7.26% effectiveness drop on the PP while in the playoffs, and that’s with multiple assistant coaches running the powerplay units. That’s a significant drop and problem for this team.

Oof, really capturing the zeitgeist of this sub.
