It’s going exactly how I expected so there’s that.

I’ve experienced the five stages of grief and I’ve landed on acceptance.

My morning thoughts : PLD is basically Bradley Beal to the Phoenix suns

I js caught up with the game 30mins ago and been crying abit in the shower. 3 straight yrs again the same team that’s gonna come to the same result – this kings team is making me sympathetic with leafs fans and that’s not ok. Im not ok ☹️

Not great, bob. Not great.

I mean, it’s exactly what was expected to happen, so I’m certainly not crestfallen. We were all bracing for this anyways.

At least when we lost to the sharks we were back and forth. This is just depressing.

I liked that our guys threw a bunch of clean hard checks last night. Other than that…blah.

I dunno. I loved the kings before playoffs. I love the kings now. I’ll love the kings tomorrow. Last nights game wasn’t embarrassing so i don’t even mind that. Go kings go.

Fine, because I assumed this was how it was going to go. Glad we didn’t get swept, but if we were going to make it past Edmonton I feel like it would have happened in 2022 or 2023.

At times like this, I have to remind myself I’ve experienced two Stanley Cup wins in my lifetime. Most fans can’t say that. /cope

The biggest upsetting details for me from this series is allowing both the first playoff hat trick of the season to Hyman and first playoff shutout of the season to Skinner, considering the Kings played so well defensively most of the year, especially on the PK.

If you expected any better than this, I’m not sure what to tell you.

I’m already an emotionally dead person, however Kings in the playoffs make me feel a disappointment i’m not used to.

The hardest part is that it’s the Oilers for the third time in a row. They’re such an unlikable team, full of crybabies and low-character assholes like Kane and Perry. And they don’t care – for them it’s win at all costs. Theyre unlikable from the management all the way to the fans, who have won nothing and yet are more entitled than fans coming off a threepeat. No humility, all angst, no character. Terrible.
On the other hand, they have more high end talent than we do.. it’s just a fact. We don’t have any game breaker types (except for Kopi and Kempe once in a while). Our roster and system don’t seem aligned to making deep playoff runs. Also, our mental game is weak and the coaching hasn’t been able to fix it.
I reminded myself this morning that the universe owes us nothing, you play the games to find out, and ultimately it’s just a sport – getting too upset over something where I have zero control is really unwise.
Yeah, it’s copium, but that’s life and sports. At some point in the future the Oilers will be back to being a shitty podunk team waiting for draft luck to make them relevant, and their fans will still live in Edmonton.

The last one is knowing the team traded talent and are paying a lesser talented guy $8.5 million a season and in game 4 he played 13:15 and had 0 shot and a whopping 4 hits. The game before that? 14:08 0 shots, 3 hits but he did manage 14 penalty minutes.
In the last two playoff loses “the future team leader” PLD has zero shots on goal. such a great trade Where would the team be without such a talent?

The deja vu I’m experiencing is almost concerning. I feel exactly the same as I do the last 2 years, and it feels like I’m almost watching the same games again. Ready for what feels like an inevitable series loss, but see just enough in the Kings to hope they don’t just give up.

Playing one of the best duos every season is maddening. Like yeah it’s the playoffs and there are Mackinnon types out there who could do the same thing. But just once I want to face an average playoff team

Think I just want it to be over with on Wednesday. There’s absolutely no way this Oilers team is losing 3 in a row, so why prolong the inevitable? It’s probably better to lose Wednesday anyway so it shows that changes absolutely need to be made.
FakeTreverMoore12
There’s 32 teams, and only one gets to lift the cup every year. I’m just happy we made the playoffs this year, and I got to see some really great hockey played by living legends like Kopi and Doughty, and some amazing growth from youngsters like Spence, Laffy, and especially Byfield.

If it gets Blake fired then it’s all good. The PLD trade & sign was Mike Milbury levels of stupid. PLD already had a bad reputation as a floater and a diva, Blake going all in on such a suspect player was so desperate and lazy that he deserves to lose his job over that gamble.
